We got about an inch. Folks have dutifully begun sliding off the roads, in compliance with the Full Employment For Weather & Traffic Reporters Act of 1969.
It's a mite strange that the
USS Texas got snowed on before the
USS Indianapolis Memorial this year.
What?
ReplyDeleteThe Texans beat us in snow!?!?
*shakes fist at sky*
Lazy weather, you're not the boss of me.
Shootin' Buddy
'sposed to snow in
ReplyDeleteFresno today.
Bush's fault.
I thought the same thing when family in Houston called to say they had snow.
ReplyDelete"Wait. You got snow down there? When I am yet to see it here in Missouri?"
Makes no sense. None whatsoever.
I tend to think of this weather as an economic stimulus package for body shops.

What are yall talkin about??? It can't snow in Texas... it can't be snowing in KY and IN either... haven't you listened to the GLOBAL WARMING people?!?!?!?!?!?!
ReplyDeletewe're not having a record cold year here in KY either... can't be happening... they must have moved all the temp probes to underground or something.....
(end sarcasm)
I HATE snow, it makes my commute to my full-time job, and farmwork at home a PITA on a daily basis...
I tried to cheer Sally up by pointing out that it looked like a nice white sand beach.
ReplyDeleteAs usual, that really didn't work very well.
Pfffttt...
ReplyDeleteThere was snow on the ground here in AL Saturday morning that hung around even after the sun came up. Some was still there Sunday that was in the shade.
Personally, ya'll can keep that stuff, people here panic and buy up all the milk and TP in mad rushes.
Gmac
"Personally, ya'll can keep that stuff, people here panic and buy up all the milk and TP in mad rushes."
ReplyDeleteProbably because ice has a bad habit of showing up when snow is instead called for.
Ya'll can keep it. Snow = goofballs on the road who don't know how to drive in the s**t = too damn many accident reports. No thanks.
ReplyDelete"Ya'll can keep it. Snow = goofballs on the road who don't know how to drive in the s**t = too damn many accident reports. No thanks."
ReplyDeleteAye. I used to buy into the idea that people from certain regions knew how to drive in it. Then I noticed that people seemed determined to skid their "winter beater" into a light pole/ditch/Bob's Bourbon Bunker regardless of where they're from. Hell, a little over a week ago Anchorage had their first snow of the season and there were over 300 wrecks.
Damn you, for sending me down that dreadnought rabbit hole.
ReplyDeleteUSS Texas has the last four 5"-51s, my favorite American naval gun. 3200 f/s, baby!
ReplyDeleteHmmm. When I think Battleship Texas I think of THIS dang hazard to navigation.
ReplyDelete90 miles of interstate with less than half an inch of loose, blowing snow on it, at least 10 separate accidents or off-road excursions this morning.
ReplyDeleteWe got a bunch out here too, and at low elevations - just not on the ground like in '63.
