He idealized the independent yeoman farmer as exemplar of republican virtues, distrusted cities and financiers, and favored states' rights and a strictly limited federal government.Reacting in predictably Pavlovian fashion to the word "republican", a HuffPo writer suspects tampering by the RNC.
People this stupid shouldn't even be allowed into the Soylent Green vats.
Next thing you know they will claim that Jefferson co-founded the Democratic-Republican Party. Crazy right-wingers.
ReplyDeleteThanks. I read the comments at that link. That much willful stupidity at this hour of the morning, coupled with the thought that these mindless things not only vote, but breed...
ReplyDeleteGonna be a depressing day.
I think I'd be a little happier if I thought the stupidity was wilful. That, at least, would indicate some electron exchanges among the critical synapses.
ReplyDeleteWonder how Huffy he'll be when he discovers Wiki reporting that Plato wrote a book called "The Republic."
Human IQ is constant.
ReplyDeleteThe population is rising.
Yet another example of the Soundbite Culture and the total destruction of the American educational system.
ReplyDeleteCreate a nation of welfare dependent idiots and you can control...but that raises the question of whether what you have left to control is worth anything.
There may be justice at the end of all this after all!
No worries about the Solyent Vats. The protein in stupidity is denatured at 185 degrees Fahrenheit (85 Celsius) if it is held at that level for at least 15 minutes. As long as they get leftist slurry up to that high a temperature at some point in the industrial process you are safe. And they generally call for a temperature of about 200 for more than half an hour.
ReplyDeleteNJT makes a good point. It's only an issue with the "raw" Soylent, and that's only available at hippy-dippy stores so it's a closed loop.
ReplyDeleteHah. If only conservatives were "smarter"!
ReplyDeleteFor every literate, sane adult there are ten fans of Glenn Beck or bible literalists...
You can't escape stupidity. I suspect even places like CERN or LLNL have it by the bucketload, just from the administration staff.
The internet allows the stupid to air their opinions easily.
ReplyDelete"It's moot now. September 1993 will go down in net.history as the September that never ended."
Hilarity. The HuffandBlow is a collection of people with half the wits of a half wit.
ReplyDeleteNew Jovian Thunderbolt, you have succefully combined Soylent Green with Ray Bradbury.
ReplyDeleteFahrenheit 185:The temperature at which stupidity burns.
You,SIR, are awesome.
