Books. Bikes. Boomsticks. “I only regret that I have but one face to palm for my country.”
If thy pistol needeth an extractor spring, it is not an M1911, but rather a vile abomination in the eyes of the Lord.-The Revelation of St. John the Divine, Chapter 19, Verse 11.
A proper extractor doesn't need a spring; a proper extractor is a spring.
Thus saith Saints Browning and Mauser. Amen.
Hey, at least it's not a chunk of rubber band this time! ;)
♫ Movin' on u-uup!♫:D
Plus it is getting an arched mainspring housing in the very near future, so I think that balances it out a little.
+1 on Jack!
Get a Glock, yuk, yuk, yuk... :)Al T.
Meh, the good ol' M67 is cheaper and more effective than a Glock ever will be.
I don't trust these breechloaders. You can't see the spark.
Smokeless powder is a passing fad, anyway. :-)Yea verily on the 1911 and Mauser sans extractor springs bit, too.
Like it. Hmmm, going along with the Good Book theme... I wonder if a verse pertaining to my Hi-Power would be in the lost gospels?Best,McVee
I like delayed blowback and blowback as the extractor is not normally necessary for function.
Fred, I don't think I'd have phrased it like that...Extractor spring? What's an extractor spring? Isn't that just another violation of the KISS principle?Art
Desertrat- I think you may have missed out on the adventures of the rubberband extractor spring in my buddies AR a couple weeks ago. It's still going strong by the way, getting close to 500 rounds through it.
Naw, I recall that little episode of Ethiopian Engineering. I'm kinda empirical: If it works, it's okay for now...But I wuz just focussed on pistols made as God intended. :-) I guess I'm just stuck on "Simpler is better."
