Verily I say unto thee...

If thy pistol needeth an extractor spring, it is not an M1911, but rather a vile abomination in the eyes of the Lord.

-The Revelation of St. John the Divine, Chapter 19, Verse 11.

  1. A proper extractor doesn't need a spring; a proper extractor is a spring.

  4. Plus it is getting an arched mainspring housing in the very near future, so I think that balances it out a little.

  6. Meh, the good ol' M67 is cheaper and more effective than a Glock ever will be.

  7. I don't trust these breechloaders. You can't see the spark.

  8. Smokeless powder is a passing fad, anyway. :-)

  9. Like it. Hmmm, going along with the Good Book theme... I wonder if a verse pertaining to my Hi-Power would be in the lost gospels?

  10. I like delayed blowback and blowback as the extractor is not normally necessary for function.

  11. Fred, I don't think I'd have phrased it like that...

Extractor spring? What's an extractor spring? Isn't that just another violation of the KISS principle?

  12. Desertrat- I think you may have missed out on the adventures of the rubberband extractor spring in my buddies AR a couple weeks ago.

It's still going strong by the way, getting close to 500 rounds through it.

  13. Naw, I recall that little episode of Ethiopian Engineering. I'm kinda empirical: If it works, it's okay for now...

But I wuz just focussed on pistols made as God intended. :-) I guess I'm just stuck on "Simpler is better."
