The wildlife was pretty wild.

So last night I dreamed that Bobbi and I were living in this house in Alaska, a house with lots of exterior doors and big picture windows. And there was a leopard running around in the yard. And then a lion came along and started fighting the leopard. Next thing you know there was a regular lion and leopard infestation around the house, and I began to get a little worried about the flimsiness of the doors and picture windows, and so we started to move bookcases and sofas to cover them.

It was a pretty strange dream.

  1. I figured bobbi for laying down electric fences and sensor arrays, and you for the covering fire...

  2. Well, it was AK, so as long as just two of the big three "lions and tigers (leopards) and bears" were there, you're probably safe there in dreamland.

Any of those last ones show up though, whether clad in lush brown or classic white?

Forget about the bookcases; just do the airplane thing...head between legs and kiss that a goodbye.

  3. Well, perhaps your Id is just being Odd, or maybe it's telling you to take a better look at the defensive situation of your home.

  4. Using state-of-the-art Patriot Dream Interpretation Science, wherein the Lion is a symbol for the British Kingdom, and the Leopard is a symbol of Germany --
I'd say you were worried about lobsterbacks and hessians tromping about on our home soil.

Unfortunately this ends with you appealing to a Gallic Rooster for succor.

  5. "Sweet dreams are made of these.."?!

Gotta lay off that spicy food before bedtime.

  6. Crud.

All that primo material running around and you didn't even think of harvesting some for a nice leopard coat for your friend phlegmmy? You wound me, Madam.

    :P

  7. "I had another dream about lions at the door they weren't half as frightening as they were before - and I'm wondering where the lions are..."

  8. I believe it would be time to invest in something large caliber and repeating. While a M1 Garand with good softpoints would do the job on lion and leopard. You might need something bigger for bears and water buffalo.

My interpretation of your dream? You need to acquire an 1895 Winchester in .405 WCF and some hefty solids to feed it.

    Ya know...just in case.

  9. You need to channel your inner gun geek whilst dreaming.

Take along a gun or two that you know you don't even own, like, maybe a .375 H&H or an antique 4-bore.

The flimsiness of your doors and windows will cease to bother you so much.

Dammit! The Cave Lions and Saber-Tooths are fighting outside the cave again!

  11. You should get an extra level of defense if you face the bookshelves with the book covers toward the windows and the title pages of your Teddy Roosevelt, Robert Ruark, and Peter Capstick collection at cat's-eye level.

  12. Okay, I'll say it: Lions and Leopards? No Tigers or Bears or Ohmys? Next time you dream this, don't worry about the doors. Just click your heels 3 times and say "There's no place like Home, There's No place like Home..." Or don the Wookie Suit and have at them.

  13. All those articles about relatively local drive-bys plus a defensive mindset = anxiety dream about predators battling among themselves all around you?

Or, y'know. Just a relatively wacky dream.

  14. The windows and doors show a concern about the world around you, you feel a need for a closer watch; as if you don't trust the world to stay safe and secure.

And sure enough, you find yourself in conflict outside the home (since every "one" in the dream is really you). The leopard isn't about spots (as in acne or poison ivy rash); it is a fleet and sleak hunter, that holds reign over it's territory through speed, agility, and sheer competence. The lion is a symbol of power and authority, again ruler of it's own domain.

So you are fearful that matching the strength of the lion against the lean agility of the leopard - will threaten your inner security.

Bringing together - you are worried that B. Hussein Obama's inept and unconstitutional reign will demolish what security remains. You are worried also whether your best survival lies in strength and confrontation, or in lying low and attempting to weather the storm.

Perhaps a round of unarmed combat classes would help to restore a sense of calm acceptance, about when to run and how to survive when you can't.

  15. I don't know what the dream means, but it had me ROFL.
