Update: Having passed along both a link to your post and also a link to the Hayseed Dixie vid in comments, I am now catching much grief from the folks in my little facebook family group. Nobody is getting anything done! Aunts, cousins, friends, all bustin' out their inner hillbilly via YouTube. At least it's on the weekend. :-)

Just now listening their cover of the more recent "I Kissed A Girl" song. (Their take was quite humorous at "...I hope mah boyfriend don't mind it...")
I also discovered the "Pickin' On" series. . .they do bluegrass covers (instrumentals only) of rock tunes. . . Downloaded "Street Fightin' Man" off of amazon. . . check it out. . pretty funny!

As to going WAY back, did anyone have a problem a few decades ago when a certain Country Music Star ripped off the Strauss Bros. from Austria? You know, that lil' tune called "Tennessee Waltz?" ; )
I used to do a bluegrass music show on a local radio station, and one of my favorite things to do (I did it every shift) was to slip in a bluegrass cover of a pop or rock song. There's actually quite a lot of them...
Having now watched several of the Cleverlys covers of other rock songs on You Tube, I can only say that I am awestruck at exactly how something so wrong can be so right.
