Yawn.

Slow start on Turkey Day here at Roseholme Cottage.

Roomie has plans to commit cookery; rumor has it that we'll be repeating last year's wildly successful turducken feast. With Shootin' Buddy not being here, I will be able to drink the bacon-mushroom gravy straight from the bowl. I picked up an Argentine Malbec while getting the last minute ingredients at the store yesterday, and I'm looking forward to a very unproductive afternoon.

  1. Re: the Argentine Malbec: did he make an outcry when you picked him up? What part of the country is his tribe from? Have they been featured in National Geographic?

wv: surricat: feline species domesticated by the Argentine Malbecs.

  2. "...bacon-mushroom gravy straight from the bowl."

Don't forget that a lady does this with an extended pinkie.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.

  3. Malbec is the shiznatt. I did 6 gallons of Chilean Malbec from a kit last fall, and of the 30 bottles produced, I have a whopping 6 left. Good stuff, Maynard!

Currently in the process of smoking a beef brisket over apple wood for Thanksgiving. Malbec might go great with that, hmmm....

  7. I've thought for some time that Argentina produces price/performance winners. Nothing like a currency devaluation to keep us in cheap hooch. As long as it's their currency.

So we should be good for another six months or so.

OT, but you might be interested in this, re: the crazy cat lady in the northern half of the Korean peninsula:
