...but not here.
Indy only got an inch and change of snow on Christmas, which wasn't much, but was still enough to boost this to the third snowiest December ever.
Meanwhile, Atlanta had its first white Christmas since 1882 and Birmingham, Alabama had its first since... well, since anybody who cared about Christmas and snowfall and could write things down was in the neighborhood we now call "Birmingham".
Meanwhile, they're getting a record-book-level dollop of snow in North Cackalacky...
They're calling for a warmup by this weekend here, though. I can't wait.
It's strange - Kroger had plenty of bread, milk, and toilet paper. People need to work on their ZOMG! SNOW!!!1!!one! panic routine ...
ReplyDeleteEven more snow in Birmingham today. I've never had a full size van on icy roads before. It's quite invigorating between bouts of sheer terror. Decent learning experience though.
ReplyDeleteHad to postcard perfect white Christmas in southern KY. About 4 inches on the grass and melted off the roads by noon.
ReplyDeleteIt can go bye bye now.

My daughter just moved from Minnesota to North Carolina saying "At least there's no snow". Poor kid. ,
ReplyDeleteWV "densum" It snowed a bunch and densum more.
We be in North Cackalacky. I just posted the first picture, I was going to call it "View From the Porch", but thought better of it.
ReplyDeleteFor those of you in NC, how are the roads? We're getting ready to embark on the 2nd leg of our Holiday family visits, which takes us from SW Va (light snow, roads clear) to central NC (just SE of Raleigh). We have to drive through the Greensboro region.

Record amount of snow for Christmas here in Asheville NC. I'ma stayin offa tha roads. Too many Floridians that haven't flown south for winter are still here.
ReplyDeleteEast of Raleigh, 8 inches here and it's still snowing. Main roads plowed, secondary roads are a mess.
ReplyDeleteRoads were mostly clear in Durham when I made my milk and banana pudding run. Roads were surprisingly clear of idiots excluding myself.
ReplyDeleteNow that I'm back to the land of regular Internet access...
ReplyDeleteBy the time we left SW Va at 4:30pm, the roads were clear all the way to Seymour Johnson-land. Some black ice was starting to appear in the last mile or two before our destination, but nothing excessive. I40 had the lowest volume of traffic I've ever experienced, though I could not fathom why one douchebag had to tailgate me at 70mph.
