But that's okay, because it's supposed to get up to a balmy 18-20 this afternoon, depending on who you ask.
They're predicting single digit lows and ~20 degree highs for the next two days, too. The average high for this time of year is, like, 42 degrees, and we're not going to get even halfway there. Some of you people aren't driving your SUVs enough.
Well this is why I personaly use the gas powered snow blower even when there is only 3" or less of snow on the ground.

Whaddaya mean, "not even halfway there"? 42F is 501.7R, and 20F is 479.7R, so you're:

The glow-ball warmening is going just fine.
Here in Central Cryogenica (Minnesnowta) we're looking at lows in the oughts-to-negatory range for the next couple of nights. But that's okay, we had 8" of nice, white, fluffy insulation fall on us Friday night like big soft blanket.
But didn't you know that it's called 'climate change' now? That means you can blame everything on it, too hot, too cold, whatever.
ReplyDeletePretty cold in Northern Europe right now too. I think the last time we had enough snow for skiing in South Finland at this time of the year was during the 60's. The question is whether the cold winters of, lets see, during the Winter War if you go back far enough, and then at least during the 60's and 70's (the ice age is coming! the ice age is coming! -time), were due to the climate change too...
I used to study geology. I'm not convinced that there is a human caused climate change going on, but I don't completely dismiss it either, I have just never been able to figure out why we should panic if it is for real. Has been a lot hotter, has been a lot colder, world didn't perish. And sooner or later the climate will change radically with or without our help, so learning how to adapt to it would probably be a good idea.
But it's a dry cold!

ReplyDeleteOk, ok, I'll stop whining about lows of 20 and highs of 40 here in SC. If it makes you feel any better, I'll burn all this damn literature that the Army's Recruiting School gave me, too. Maybe that'll convince them that I don't need to be here and they'll send me to Afghanistan.
