Overheard in the Hallway:

Me: *clicks off Meet the Press and walks away in disgust* "Shut up, you sanctimonious jackholes!"

RX: "Ha! 'Sanctimonious Jackholes'... That'd be a great name for a Sunday morning political show!"

  1. For years I thought the Sunday AM babble-kack was "Meet The Depressed".

TV folks lend themselves to ridicule, e.g. "As The Worm Squirms" among the soap operas.

    The possibilities are nearly endless.

  2. 'Sanctimonious Jackholes' would be a good name for a band.

  3. "Sanctimonious Jackholes," applied to political pundits on Sunday morning TV, is a smear upon all the sanctimonious, and all the jackholes, who are not political pundits. But I guess the term better describes the talking heads than "lying wretches" or "gullible tools."

  4. I always wanted my own Sunday talk show, just so I call it the "Sabbath Gasbags."

  5. Would be a good grunge band name, too.

  6. No, insufficiently distinctive, like the all new Toyota "2011 Sedan".

It's doing it again, the captcha is "numas"- all you get from watching an hour of Sanctimonious Jackholes.

  7. It seems that getting your news third hand from the Sunday crowd of uselessly outraged eunuchs of modernity is an exercise in futility itself. I only watch Fox News Sunday to see how absurd Juan Williams gets when faced with reality. It's like watching a Barney Frank having to pay for his own dinner!

  9. Although this post solves an old mystery.

I always wondered what the "S.J." after the odious Congressman Drinan's name meant.

  10. Drinan was a priest- "SJ stood for "Society of Jesus", the Jesuits. Ordinarily normal people who are very bright, Drinan is the idiot exception that tests the rule. He's probably still explaining to God why he was such a dick when he was alive.

  11. Yes, I know. Thought it was a funny coincidence.

  12. "The Sanctimonious Jackholes Group" or "Meet The Sanctimonious Jackholes" but not "This Week With Sanctimonious Jackholes".
