QotD: You're In Good Hands Edition.

From JayG:
Just imagine calling up your insurance agent and telling them that you got rear-ended by a Supreme Court Justice. I wonder how eager they'd be to settle that one out of court?
Oh, man, I laughed 'til it hurt. Which triggered this discussion:
RX: "What's Scalia doing driving his own car? Isn't he, like, a hundred and something years old?"

Me: "He's 75."

RX: "He's a Supreme Court Justice..."

Me: "Clarence Thomas drives a 'Vette."

RX: "Yeah, but Clarence Thomas is cool! Get Scalia out from behind the wheel. Do you want to give Obama another Supreme Court nomination?"

  1. Glad you got a chuckle out of it!

I figured it was a good companion piece to the post I put up a few months back about Ozzie Osbourne crashing his brand new Ferarri into some lawyer's Mercedes...

Car wrecks of the rich and famous. I wonder if Robin Leach might be interested in coming back to television...

  2. My deepest fear for the Republic is that one of the Semi-Cons on SCOTUS dies or retires under the Anoited One's Admin. Can you say Rubberstamp?

I think I was driving behind him just the other day, at 30mph... in a 50 zone.

  7. Dad quit driving at 81. Had a turbo Mitsu and a 4.0L 4x4 Ranger. Died about 6 months later. Guy lived to drive. (stock car racer, back when they ran on dirt with welded rear gears)

  8. My grandma still drives at 93. She first drove at 12 years old when she needed to move something on the farm, just jumped in the big farm truck and figured out the gearing herself. Knew she'd get a whupping if she screwed up; she didn't screw up.

  9. My Grandpa drove everyday up to his death at 94.

He died peacefully in his sleep - his passengers screamed all the way to the bottom of the cliff.

NO! I don't want to give that Prez another opening to screw up the constitution with. Aren't there enough unemployed drives in DC who'll jump at the chance to drive ANYONE around, for pay?
