Woke up with a pounding headache this morning. I guess that beats waking up with the house down around your ears, though, which was altogether too common in the Midwest today.
They're calling for pop-up thunderstorms in the afternoon, so Turk and Bobbi and I bicycled to Taste for breakfast and then down as far as the State Fairgrounds where they were loading cars for the Mecum auction: The parking lot was liberally strewn with GTOs, 'Cudas, Mustangs, and even a winged Dodge Charger Daytona and a beautiful '67 Corvette 427 ragtop. I pedaled my bicycle up and down the aisles of cars in slack-jawed wonder.
Back up the Monon to Locally-Grown Gardens to check out the vegetable starts and grab a bottle of birch beer, and back to Roseholme Cottage. Now to try and get some actual errands done before the rains come.
About a year ago I randomly came across a Plymouth Super-Bird in a Target parking lot. Thankfully I had a camera in the car...
ReplyDeleteBoth Bobbi and Turk were goin' crazy with the cameras. We'll see what gets posted.
ReplyDeleteHopefully a headache this morning is the worst of your troubles today!

Tam - I've found that since no oral medication helps my headaches I get some relief from sprayed on minty stuff. Icy Hot, or whatever it is called.
ReplyDeleteYou might get different results, but besides spraying my forehead (cover your eyes) I spray my ears. As odd as that sounds it helps matters. I hope you feel better.
And I hope that nothing that could be called a 'disaster' no matter how minor befalls you and your roommate.
I bought NASCAR Legends, back in the day, because I figured you couldn't possibly go wrong with the Grand Prix Legends physics engine and the 1970 Super-Bird.
ReplyDeleteYeah, don't you just hate it when you have your Ark 3/4 done and you have to put it on Hold because it's raining too much? I'm also sure that it's way past that 40 days and 40 nights that this crappy weather is supposed to last.
ReplyDeleteHow do you usually carry while on the bike?
ReplyDeleteI have a fanny pack for the purpose (though I am not a huge fan of it) and I recently acquired a belly band which I am also not a huge fan of (though t might be because my Makarov is just Too Heavy), but if you have extra wisdom I'd be happy to hear it.
Birch Beer? More info please?
ReplyDeleteSport: Similar to Root Beer. Made from Birch bark.
ReplyDeleteVery popular in the Continental Army, although Spruce beer was favored. (The classic recipes are actually mildly alcoholic, and good spruces of vitamin C.)
ReplyDeleteThe number of headaches in Roseholme...have you ever tested for radon or carbon monoxide levels? Or maybe a comprehensive water test?
ReplyDeleteYou two are getting us complete strangers concerned here on the other end of the internets.
Cure for Monday morning pounding headache...maybe just a nip o' the snake what bit ya? Careful though; don't want to get hit with a DWB...
ReplyDelete'67...the last Corvette.

Dodge Daytona/Plymouth Superbird - *LUST*!
ReplyDeleteIf I won the lottery I'd buy a Daytona, or failing that, a Superbird. Or both. :-) At this point though, my eventual goal is a '69 Dodge Charger with a 383 and a 4-barrel. The 440 with the six-pack is just too much trouble to keep synchronized for a daily driver. The equivalent Plymouth Roadrunner would also be nice.

Oooh, I do love Mopars!
ReplyDeleteIt depresses me nowadays to see the local teenagers "restoring" a 1988 Trans Am, but every now and again I see some youngster driving a very nice 72 Duster to school.
AW: I suffer chronic migraines. Did so long before I moved here. Tam was dehydrated; we'd been doing a whole lot of outdoors walking and biking.
ReplyDeleteRx: You have understanding sympathy from me.
