Pedaling home from Sam's Gyros with dinner in the basket of the Broad Ripple SUV, I heard a horn beep behind me as I cut through the parking lot of the Fresh Market. Was that a "Damn!" or a "Tam!"...?
The safest thing on a bike when there are cars about is pedal faster! So I did.
After cruising up the alley and putting the bike in the garage, Roomie met me in the kitchen, saying "Hey, Brigid said she just saw you at the Fresh Market?"
Sure enough, moments later, Brigid was at the front door with Miss D., The Fearless Cross Country Aviatrix from A Wing And A Whim! How cool!
We sat around and chatted far too briefly, but that was maybe the neatest little coincidence of the month. :)
Wish we could have stayed longer, but we had stuff that needed to get to a refrigerator in the heat.
ReplyDeletehonk honk!
Would Miss D. be Kaylee? If so, say "Hi!" for me.

What a weekend not to bge able to visit INdy.
ReplyDeleteSo cool! Wish I could be there to see y'all! Sounds like a good time for a party. :)
ReplyDeleteAl - psst - nope. But Miss D knows her. ;)
Ah, 1 and 1 did not equal 3. Nice to hear from you though!

Just looked up Miss D's plane - What a neat project and what a handsome little plane!

Pedal faster! (The image is *hilarious*, btw. You on a by-gosh bicycle! How's the tofu there? :-P)
ReplyDeleteLeave it to friends, Tam. Too Funny.
ReplyDeleteReminds of when (many many eons ago) an old gf of mine had me go out for cigarettes near Rice and Maryland (not so nice part of town) at 1am in the morning (no worries I was terminally innocent in those days...).
As I was walking back to her apartment a car pulled up slowly beside me. I pretended not to notice the car and kept walking (it was also a very dark street).
The car them sped up a bit turned the corner, stopped and out pile 4 or 5 guys who silently started running towrds me.
Knowing something was amiss as they had pulled over and stopped, I was already in warp drive headed towards her apartment.
A few seconds later I heard my named being called along with various hoots and laughter. I turned around and far off (yep... I can be pretty fast) are my buddys from the Hospital Kitchen (worked at Bethesda Hospital as a dietary aide waaay back then) laughing their asses off at my most speedy departure.
Jerks. :)
At least it wasn't deliberate on Brigids' part.
LOL- Pedal faster... That works! Glad y'all got a little time to chat though!
ReplyDeleteIt's cool to have such gun-buddy and blogging friends nearby.
