Meanwhile, in Bizarroland...

No REVENUE HIKES, only spending CUTS, CUTS, and CUTS—initially about $1 trillion will be cut from U.S. spending, and then another big cuts in government spending, phased in over a decade. Thousands of programs will be cut, Park Service, IRS, Labor Department, none will be spared.
Wow. I wonder what color the sky is in his world?

Meanwhile, elsewhere on Technorati:

I'll take "What Is A Push Poll?" for $100, Alex.

  1. Too tired to sleep, huh? Who was it that said Television is a Vast Wasteland? Whoever it was didn't browse the Web in the Early 21st Century. Be careful how far you go, 'cause beyond a certain point "There Be Trolls."

  2. That techno-whatever writer cannot possibly be a native English speaker. I hope he isn't, for it's quite unreadable, quite apart from the overwrought emotional attachment of the author to the Former Junior Senator from Illinois (FJSfI).

Both sides of the political food-fight are prone to hyperbole, but it's been my experience that the supporters of the FJSfI are so much more emotionally attached to the person of the current President, far more than Republicans have in the past been attached to GOP Presidents (although Reagan gets beatified and idealized far too much for my liking but he's dead).

Their choice of language - particularly when they believe they're writing for an audience of like-minded readers - is entirely emotive and not at all informative. It's creepy.

James Taranto had a bit about this tendency at the bottom of his Best of the Web Today column in the WSJ. It was bizarre. I found myself pitying the writer he featured. The fellow - a gay Italian national - had no rational attachment to the FJSfI, but gushed like a schoolgirl (really - I'm not exaggerating) about his emotional connection with him. Made my skin crawl.

2012 will be a crushing year if he gets defeated in the polls. I suspect lots of therapy, lots of prescription med overuse and more than a few suicides.

  3. Wow, Tam, I'm continually amazed at your Google-Fu ability to seek out and quote these whining, creepy, don't-think-they've-ever-moved-out-of-Mamma's-basement losers. I can't believe the inability of these and other like-minded short-sighted idiots who can't seem to think beyond next month or next year, and then shake my head and have to resist the urge to slap them when they are so shocked, SHOCKED, I tell you - when they reap the rewards of their behavior and the behavior of the politicians they support. Things such as the dot-com bubble, the banking bubble, and the Fannie Mae real estate bubble always come as a complete surprise to them.
Well, A. Mohit, if you thought the real estate bubble was bad news, just wait until you see the welfare, Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security bubble that's coming to you in about twelve more years. You, your kids, and your grandkids are just going to love the results of that one. Hope you've got a cardboard box handy to remind you of the good old days of living in Mom's basement.

WV: sessn - OK, rant mode off, my sessn is ended.

    If only that were true.

    Wait...

Is this guy claiming that the situation he's describing is a bad thing???

  5. heh.

This retard has never met a real fiscal conservative.

And here he is, getting butt-hurt over a bunch of Republicans agreeing to a budget that will drive us into the dumpster next year instead of this year.

  6. Only in the minds of collectivists and politicians is a reduction in the size of an INCREASE a "cut".

  7. It was sometime in the 1990s that a wild feed on my big-dish TV showed Gingrich explaining the fraudulent "cut" deal: Any reduction from a proposed budget item was defined as a cut. This began in 1976, which is why I couldn't understand the Democrat's whining over Reagan's alleged budget cuts: There was an actual increase over the previous year's spending.

  8. If any business was run like the Social Security Administration they'd be charged with with running a Ponzi scheme.
If any business kept books like the .gov or The Fed they'd be indicted on fraud charges.

This bill passed because most of Washington doesn't want the rest of the country to find out we really can get along without them.

  12. How can anyone think cutting the IRS is in any way a bad thing?

  13. The sky in his world is grey, and getting darker. Mists are gathering, and THINGS move just at the edge of his vision, that vanish when he turns to face them. And the voices keep whispering: "Everything you know is a lie. Everything you fear is the truth."

He weeps, and his tears NOURISH us.
