Three needles to the lower right jaw followed by a below-the-gums cleaning. I feel like I took a shot to the jaw from Tyson. Seriously, it's about as sore as it was after I had my wisdom teef pulled.
I'm going to take some Vitamin I and have a little lie-down.
Get better!

Awwww!!!!
ReplyDeleteWent through the same thing yesterday Tam. Put a damp wash cloth in the freezer and it makes a nice little cold pack.
ReplyDeleteThe worst was when I was laying down and could feel my gum throbbing. Take Advil it REALLY helps.
And Ice Cream. Thank God for ice cream.
wv: noncen - what Obama's speeches are full of.
Holy crap. Just had a freakin earthquake. That's not supposed to happen in Maryland. My house is NOT supposed to move.
ReplyDeleteHope you feel bestest soonest.
ReplyDeleteGet better!
ReplyDeleteHappy thoughts for you!
ReplyDeleteIf I may be so bold, my I suggest some reading that may be germane to the thoughts at hand.
ReplyDeleteCouple shots of tequila and a nap might help.
ReplyDeleteHope ya feel better real soon.
ReplyDeleteYes, your bed is shaking, but it's not from the Dentistry. Someone just dropped a copy of Next Years Budget while moving it into the Capitol.
ReplyDeleteIt's time to take the "h" out of the whine!
ReplyDeleteI do feel for you.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was eight, living with my stepdad, I went to get my teeth looked at by a dentist.
The dentist concluded I need eight teeth pulled to keep the new ones from coming in crookded.
All was well when I keep my eyes closed. I opened them, just in time to see that big-ass needle start its way into my mouth.
I got upset very fast, and threw a fuss. Upshot, my they ended up pulling them anyway with no anesthetic, held down by my stepdad and other people. Have a phobia about dentists to this day.
Hope you feel better soon Tam!
ReplyDeleteFor those of you that have not had this procedure it hurts! I know, I put my dentist's kids through college he says.
When I had my roots planed, I used single malt whisky as my choice of pain reliever.
ReplyDeleteBTW - my perio told me that she's noticed that people with red hair and fair skin seem to have perio problems more than other hair/skin colorations, by significant margins.
Welcome to the red haired club.
But at least your shoulder doesn't hurt!
ReplyDeleteThat is what RUM is for!
ReplyDeleteI am somewhat familiar with the feeling. May your vitamin I be at least 86 proof, and used to chase 4ibuprofen. We all need you in fine snarking spirit, so get some rest and we'll all think nice thoughts for you.
ReplyDeleteLower jaw? There's only one nerve down there to hit (one for either side). Hit it right, half of your jaw (and half of your tongue) will feel no pain. If it took them three tries, you're dealing with amateurs (oh, wait...right). Well, you know what they say...you get what you pay for.
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better soon! I HATE dentists...
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteFrom personal experience I recommend a Sonicare toothbrush to prevent needing that cleaning again.
I feel your pain.
ReplyDeleteOr more to the point, I get to feel your pain on Thursday.
Hope you feel better soon.
Hank,
ReplyDeleteTwo shots to that nerve; Katie usually bullseyes it but wasn't happy with her first stick. There was another needle involved at some point, but I was pretty numbed up by then and I'm not at all sure where it went.
Smoke a pack! Cigs are great for the gums.
