Overheard in the Office:

I may have mentioned before that one of the more entertaining parts of my morning is overhearing the rambling chatter that comes out of the shower while my roomie is alone in there with nothing but her inner mental dialogue, which occasionally burbles over into outer mental dialog. For example, this is what just wafted over the metaphorical transom:
RX: "Today on Battle of the Bands, it's The Dave Clark 5 versus SEAL Team 6! Oh, no! Dave is down! It looks like a headshot..."
Oookay, then...
.

  8. Not sure if either of you are old enough, but in 1980 there was a Dr. Demento skit called, "Death Jam '80"..."Over 50 bands, over 400 musicians, perform live on stage...ALL AT THE SAME TIME!"

Later: "Tickets available at Lee's Liquors, Lou's Liquors, Lim's Liquors, Lukie's Liquors, Bob's Beer & Wine, and Joe's Ammo World."

It was hilarious, and perhaps she just touched on the successor, "Death Jam '12".

  9. You have failed to report that the DC5 actually won, though posthumously. They utterly routed ST6 in the music and fashion parts of the competition, which were held first.

And even in CQB, Lenny and Dave's improvised guitar string and drum stick garrotte managed to take one Seal down.

Pretty good, considering that two of the Five have been deadfor several years!

  11. Just 'cause her initials are RX does NOT mean she should be self medicating.
Then again, she does seem to be enjoying those occasional vertical periods of life.
