New Jovian Thunderbolt has
a post up with the breakdown on how to apply for a Maryland toter's permit. I'd imagine they are going to be inundated with applications in the wake of last week's momentous court ruling, so don't wait!
You know they're going to kick and scream, but a few tens of thousands of
voters people leaving permit applications in the inbox might help them reevaluate the political wisdom of too much resistance.
Heard over at Unc's that the Maryland Attorney General is asking the Judge to issue a "Stay" while they try to overturn the Judge's Ruling on Appeal, all in the name of "Public Safety." It goes something like this: "Your Honor, the State of Maryland is exercising its Constitutional Rights by asking for a Stay on your Ruling that the State has been Violating the Constitutional Rights of its Citizens. This way, we can use the Constitutional Right of Appeal to ensure that we can continue to Violate the Constitutional Rights of our Citizens to Keep and Bear Arms, even though Two Recent Supreme Court Rulings have declared our kind of Laws to be Unconstitutional."
ReplyDeleteOr words to that effect.

ReplyDeleteOn Wednesday a small group within Maryland sent in 150 applications. I don't know if those numbers have continued, but that's a big enough number compared to how many the State claims to receive every year.
ReplyDeleteAnd by "claim to receive," I don't mean "receives, cashes the check, then tosses in the trash and pretends it never existed." Because MDSP is classy like that.
The only real thing I worry about is when I apply then they deny me future application will yield a result of "he's been denied a permit before!!!" on my permanent record at the big computer downtown where they keep all the spent shell casings.
ReplyDeleteAs a native Virginian I often look across the river an laugh. I am not laughing now because the Powers That Be in Maryland are faced with a very serious problem. Their long standing monopoly on armed power is now directly opposed by the Federal Bench and the hundreds of citizens exercising their God given rights. This will not sit well in Annapolis, Baltimore or Montgomery Co. (the Axis of Evil of MD). Look for "clarifications" "improvements" and "streamlining" of MD's CCW laws along the lines of D.C.
ReplyDeleteIf we can make Maryland into a free state that respects the Constitution, D.C. will become an "Island of Fail" in the sea of America.
ReplyDeleteThat would be so poetic.
Hang in there NJT!
We can do that only if we cut Baltimore, Annapolis and MoCo loose and ship them to Albania. I live in one of the reddest parts of the state and it's still solidly democrat.
