"This is my last election," Obama told Medvedev. "After my election I have more flexibility."Oh, Barry, we all know it's true. First-term presidents worry more about getting re-elected, and lame ducks are more free to show their true colors, but we don't like to have our noses rubbed in it. You're not supposed to remind everybody.
While Obama put his hand on Medvedev's arm, the Russian president responded saying he would transmit the information to the incoming president, current Prime Minister Vladimir Putin.
If you were going to have an open-mic gaffe, you should have been caught telling Medvedev that you'd just signed legislation outlawing Russia and the bombing would commence in five minutes. Not only is that one a proven vote getter, but the look on his face would have been a highlight of future documentaries looking back on your administration.
Question is...was anyone listening ?
ReplyDeleteJust another check in the "vote for whoever isn't Obama" column. Obama is one of those "I want to fundamentally change America" types. You think the crap he pulled during his first term was bad, just wait until he thinks there are no repercussions.

I'm still not convinced he thinks there needs to be an election....
ReplyDeleteI have to admit that its coming down to "whoever isn't Obama" and I hate to say that, cause I really don't care for any of the people likely to be running against him either....
ReplyDeleteWhoa. Tam bustin' out the Vanilla Ice titles.
ReplyDeleteThis *must* be serious...
Jay G.,
ReplyDeleteI was wondering aloud to Bobbi a few minutes ago who would be the first to take notice of my lyrics droppin'. ;)
I noticed, but I thought it was Professor Elemental
ReplyDeleteMy other concern: what if he also means "If I lose, I'll just do whatever I want."?
Hmm... There's a thought. What will the "O" do if he isn't re-elected. He'll still have some time at the wheel. Are there any more domestic terrorists that he could pardon? I think Clinton managed to let most of them go already. Maybe he'll pardon Holder and all the rest of the ATF goons.

Can you pardon someone for a crime they have not been convicted of yet? If not, he should talk to someone over at the DoJ to see about getting that expedited.
ReplyDeleteStuart the Viking: Pardons will not prevent Holder and Co. from being extradited to Mexico.

ReplyDeleteFord pardoned Nixon.
Kristopher,
ReplyDeleteTrue, but I wouldn't hold my breath on any of them ever getting extradited. The US DOJ wouldn't want THAT precident to ever be set. I'm not sure I would either. While yes, the weapons ended up causing all kinds of hate and discontent in Mexico, the crimes that Holder and Co. are likely guilty of were committed here in the US. Would you want to the precident that the Mexican Gov has jurisdiction inside the US border?
Besides, Holder is all chummy with the Mexican Gov. They wouldn't want to charge him. Now maybe if he found a pee-on to be the fall guy, they would be interested.

...light up the stage and wax a chump like a candle.
ReplyDeleteI'm scared that I remember the lyrics but at least I had to look up the artist/song.
Stuart, Don't we punish... read EXECUTE.... people from other countries that piss off our government.... see Ben Laden, Sadam Hussein, et al.
ReplyDeleteWhat would stop Mexico from doing the same thing a la the Mossad.
We need to make sure to keep his lame duck status as short as possible. Two and a half months (Nov 6-Jan 20) should do it.
