Clutch the pearls!

I'd like to think that somewhere in Pittsfield, New Hamster, an iPad screen was just covered in a fine mist of whole wheat bagel, organic soy cream cheese, and half-caff latte.

  1. I'm pretty sure an iPad wouldn't be running Linux or Firefox...

  2. Cybrludite,

I know, but it fit the punchline. ;)

  3. Came through Verizon, but was running Linux/FireFox (on Ubuntu, it seems) with a 1680 x 1050 display. (Linux NetBook?)

Still funny to imagine that happening to an iPad screen.

Took me about a minute to figure the page he landed on.

    Funny, but not laugh-out-loud funny.

  4. "Triumph of the Gun Fetishists" would be an awesome title for a symphonic metal song.

  5. I remember that movie. Had Bruce Willis in it, I think.

I See What You Did There. :D

  7. I really should be able to comment on how absurd all of this is but it's not, it's current day internet search stuff...

  8. "Triumph of the Gun Fetishists" turns out to be a recent column by TIME writer Joe Klein. The content of the article is so predictable that it need not be read (I'd say that it didn't need to be written but the same can be said of most of the content of TIME magazine nowadays).

There may not be a "gun culture" such as we talked about some time ago, but the existence of its opposite cannot be denied.

  9. Drang, 'twasn't me. And I think I'm disturbed that you thought it might be. (And believe me, I can afford neither Verizon wireless service nor a machine with that kind of display resolution.)

  10. Drang,

I was gonna say that I don't think Mr. Bussjaeger much cares for me. :o

    gvi,

Yup. Which is why I sincerely hope the searcher was left clutching their pearls at what they uncovered. :D

  12. Tam, to be clear, it was the search term that was disturbing (I'm not much into fetishism of any sort), not that this is your blog.

We seem to have been doing well with the live-and-let-live bit lately. I only came over because I saw a surge of referrals from here and wondered why.

(Drang, yeah. Something over 1.3 million as of the last Great Federal Snooping. You just don't see many of them in my neck of the literal woods.)

  13. I would expect that area of hamster to be good old fashioned Yankee Republican. (northern New Hampshire and western New York stand alone)

That proximity to Loudon, probably using wireless on a laptop because of no DSL or cable broadband available.

Pittsfield isn't far from the NASCAR track, which should tell you a bit about the residents.

Anywhere within spitting distance of Keene or all the Bostonite 'burbs south of Manchester would be pretty much guaranteed to be iSurfing and sipping french-pressed civet turds.

  14. Pittsfield is a good rednecky town, think doomsday preppers meets cops. Sorta makes Enfield look like SOHO :-)
