I stayed up late-ish playing
World of Warcrack with mah peeps last night and then slept in this morning, since this is our nation's Wobbliest holiday: The day we celebrate our solidarity with the proletariat labor force of our great Rodina by acting like striking UAW members, lazing around and doing nothing. Which is more or less what I plan on doing today.
Just try and do it with verve and aclarity!

Ever tried out Lord of the Rings Online? It's free-to-play, or at least enough to get you hooked. For Tolkien fans, it's probably the closest you'll come to actually visiting Middle-Earth.

Labor Day is the U.S. throwing a bone to those who would just as soon celebrate May Day as the International Workers' Day or the neo-pagan's Bealtaine as the mid-point between the Spring Equinox and the Summer Solstice.

One of the advantages of running Linux everywhere is that WoW doesn't run on in. Neither does Netflix. Hulu is enough of a temptation and it does work well on Linux.

ReplyDeleteThere's a reason I keep a Winblows partition set up for dual booting with linux on my main computer. Well, not WoW, but other games*, plus iTunes (since it would take me a fscking month of burning and ripping CD's and then re-entering all the information into the resulting mp3's to switch to any other program - silly me, I had to go and be honest in the days before Amazon effectively drove DRM out of the non-pirated market).
* Currently Star Trek Online and DC Universe Online, both of which are free-to-play.
