Here is the part I don't understand (and yes, I know they're just giving us [well, not me or you] more of what we want, good and hard), the news could fill even more hours with the names and stories of the victims. We never hear that though, unless some of the victims happen to be a public official or some celebrity.
If I were a news producer, the next several days would be filled with tearful friends and family giving eulogies for their missing loved ones and if I had to mention the killer's name it would always be lead or followed by "the f*ck-up who clearly deserved every moment of mockery they ever received and more and is hopefully in hell receiving more mockery up the *ss from the devil himself."
We can't stop evil from being evil, but we can stop celebrating it.
But tam don't you know that it was the guns fault not his? If we could somehow magically prevent people from getting guns using government magicks, these things would stop perverting young innocent boys into twisted maniacal killers. Because people never killed other people before scary black guns.
All I can say is that I'm sick that yet another entitled crybaby emo kid decided to kill in order to show people how horrible his upper middle class 1st world upbringing was for him. Hope Satan is sodomizing him with a pinecone as we speak.
@ Ms. Tam You're good Lady... I was caught up in the hand wringing/Oh crap mode that most freedomistas are going through at the moment. I appreciate the (figurative) slap to calm my own hysteria.
38 and clear here in Boston. I'm taking my daughter camping this weekend. We might even have a little snow tomorrow night and Sunday. Thanks for the post. Take care.
We caught a nice shower here in Oklahoma tonight. Where I live, it has been too many weeks since we got any of the recent rains.
And I did notice -- the guy was wearing pants. We have to ban wearing pants, to stop these media performances.
That, and maybe a 50% excise tax on all revenues received by news organizations, and all salaries and compensation received by on-air personalities relating to incidents where more than one person died.
The NTSB doesn't release results for a year after a plane/train crash, so that the report is accurate. It's a pity CNN/MSNBC is more interested in Xmas bonuses and on-air face time.
And, doggone it, we have to get those pants banned before there is any more senseless violence!
Mid- to upper seventies and exceedingly humid in Port Everglades, where we're about to go hunting pyrates in the Caribbean, or something.
Used to sorta-kinda agree with the "this is not the time to debate gun rights" meme, but that is obviously a failed strategy, so we need to beat them over the heads with "My guns didn't do nuthin', just because some shithead is a shithead doesn't mean I should be punished".
Let's take Drang's great concept one step further:
"My guns didn't do nuthin', just because some shithead is a shithead doesn't mean you should be rewarded with illusions of fulfillment of your fantasies of a gun-free and violence-free world".
