I despise the current trend of trying to make software smarter than the user. I want my tools to do exactly and only what I tell them to do, not what they think I should want to do. Dealing with the consequences of screwing up is far less annoying than dealing with stupid hipster UX designers.
I love my ABP, Never had that issue that I've noticed (I think I turned that off..)Its so worth it to just kill all the ads that seem to pop up everywhere when I'm not using one of my normal computers.
But you live in Indiana. That means you must love the Basketsball.

ReplyDeleteFirefox has been turning into a sucking chest wound of fail for 3 years now.
ReplyDeleteAAAAAAAAAAAAAUG!!!!! Browser toolbars! Ick!
ReplyDeleteRabidAlien,
ReplyDeleteJust the links one. It's easier than going into a bookmarks menu...
No porn? Do you even internet?
ReplyDeleteI got this issue too a few weeks ago on a recent update.
ReplyDeleteWhile it was total FAIL, compared to all the good that Adblock+ & ElementHidingHelper & Fanboy's * List does, I'm not going to complain.
The web pretty much sucks if you don't take back your browser for yourself.

I got one of those once, wanting to send me, not to my bank, but to a pop-culture site that differed by, yes, one letter. Not so smart, indeed.
ReplyDeleteIf I wanted "nba" I would have typed "squeaky round ball".
ReplyDelete*gets hammer* don't you dare correct me, insolent machine!
ReplyDeleteI mean, really, I don't take that from PEOPLE.

ReplyDeleteDanH,
ReplyDeleteI have been known to yell "I did not come here to be sassed by a machine!" at the self-checkout register at the grocery store.
I'm surprised you didn't shoot it. On the other hand, that's what the haters want you to do :)
ReplyDeleteI think you meant to install AbBlock, the exercise Widget.
ReplyDeleteFirefox is way better than IE4? 5 maybe, whatever it is I was stuck running until I swapped over.
ReplyDeleteFacebook works like normal, yay!
BP - that reminds me of something that crossed my mind the other day: Don't most chest wounds suck?
