Dry well...

  1. Give the InterNets a little time this AM. They are a never-failing muse - in sooooooooo many way.

  2. You could talk ammo shortages again.

I'm getting together with The Dutchman of Sipsey Street today. We have components to assemble over 2,000 .45 auto.

He has a friend with a Dillon 1050. I'm excited to get to play with one.

Not sure what our exact yield is going to be. He bought 400 fmj. I have cast 60 pounds of boolits.

    1. 37 a lb. for 185gr., 35 for 200, 30 for 230 grain. 7,000 grains to a lb.

    2. My cast weigh about 235gr on average so I probably have 1700-ish.

  4. Never mind the stock market, or gold and silver trading; the place to make your money is in ammunition sales.

Things are so dry around here that bricks of .22 ammo are bringing $50 and up. If you are blessed with CCI, 15 cents a round is the going price.

I've had a better return on my ammo stash than any other investment I ever made!

  6. Perhaps you could do a post on why 6 out of 7 stores in the Spokane area are all sold out of 20 gauge trap loads. I'm worried that I might be missing something in my world war zed preparation kit if panic buying ammo also includes trap loads that are so un-powerful that I don't even hunt quail with them. What possible use could panic-buying preppers have for a case of popgun ammo claybreakers?

Shot horribly on the sporting clays course by the way. I wont tell you my score out of 100 but lets just say it rhymes with "nifty" and leave it at that.

  7. In between muse-bashes, I tend to entertain myself with "The Clapping Song" (three-six-nine, the goose drank wine, the monkey chewed tobacco on the street car line, the line broke, the monkey got choked, and they all went to heaven in a little row boat. My mama told me . . ), available on YouTube. Then there is the Myxolodian from the Lutheran Hymnal (I hum a lot) and "All hail the power". The Corrie's humorous "Scotland the Brave" version (http://youtu.be/kK6LkpfZ94s), "frozen twosome" indeed. And "Someone ate the baby" (Shel Silverstein's children's poem, "Dreadful").

The DayByDayCartoon.com today (with President Perry vs. the Californians) is pretty good. Yesterday's Sunday panel was a bit obscure, but sorta pro-constitution (that is, against Obama's agenda).

I suppose you could check up on the People of Walmart web site. There is the Cowboy Mounted Shooting Association (http://www.cmsagear.com/) web site (pity the poor balloons). Or the Cowboy Action Shooting folk.

Is the water table in the US dropping, what with the drought, community and family usage up, and industrial uses including agribusiness irrigation and confinement hog and chicken "factory" operation? (We could plant more trees, to help stabilize the climate, even if we don't hug them. At least, not every day.)

Just, don't sit and watch the hole in the ice without thinking about walrus, walrus blubber, walrus steak, walrus broiled in butter with mushrooms and potatoes and corn and cabbage. Just, don't.

  9. There are times I wish my blog garnered the traffic VFTP does.

Then there are times I'm just as glad no one's day is predicated on my having a good day of blogging.

That probably didn't help, did it? Sorry.

  10. Tam,

A couple of suggestions for blog content. First I suggest watching the news coverage of the "Global Warming " protesters as they caper for the cameras all wrapped up like pregnant Eskimos while they scream unintelligible cries against a pipeline that would bring them heating oil (among other things) . The chattering of their teeth drowns out the message they are trying to send. Idjits!

Second, has anyone considered the possibility that the Russian meteorite strike was actually the forward recon elements of a Venusian invasion force coming to rescue (err, kidnap) all the deep undercover Progressives now that their sabotage is on track? I suggest we immediately establish a watch on that big hole in the ice so we can provide hot tea and cookies along with Garmin gps units (obviously, theirs suffered damage, causing them to land on the wrong continent) as soon as they emerge. It's the neighborly thing to do!
