While the temps in the low 60s may have been a bit balmy, the breeze and sprinkling rain probably felt good to this polar bear. (At least until a nearby crack of lightning startled him not long after this picture was snapped...)
Yeah, they're all cute and goofy until they get hungry...
ReplyDeleteThe Colorado Zoo has an area where you step down and look into the polar bears' pool. Why do I get the feeling they see me as - lunch?

Did you throw it marshmallows to catch in its mouth? We used to do that at the Detroit Zoo.
ReplyDeleteI've encountered both brown bears and polar bears in the wild when up in Alaska. Neither made me feel particularly safe behind the .357 Magnum that was in my hand both times. Given the choice, though, I'd face the brown; they generally need a reason to attack humans, while the polar bear already has one: you're in his food chain.
