QotD: This Is My Shocked Face Edition

An employee of the Florida State Attorney's Office who testified that prosecutors withheld evidence from George Zimmerman's defense team has been fired.
No kidding?

I realize that "Chris Matthews Said He's Guilty" is a thin reed on which to hang a case, but that doesn't mean you need to take it out on your subordinates, there, sport...

  1. Of course they'll decry this abuse of power and unwillingness to admit culpability in political oppression....right after they admit they're progressive hacks and change their network format into reruns of cartoons from before 1940.

  3. My cynical side (which is strong enough that I lean to one side when I walk) informs me that the goal of this trial was a conviction that could easily be overturned on appeal. Overturned when emotions had cooled. When the news cycle found something else to outrage the easily offended.

  4. When I first called this a racially motivated political show trial, I though I might be exaggerating a little bit. Between this and last week's warrantless raid on TJIC's house, my confidence in American Justice is sinking even lower than it was.

  5. Not guilty. Of murder or manslaughter, anyway.

  6. The letter that the OSA sent as his termination notice shows a history of behavior for which he should have been fired well before now. That he was not fired until after he exposed the witholding of evidence is merely a quirk of fate.

    Please untwist you bloomers.

    stay safe.

Just a thought, but do you really trust a single word from that office after this farce of a trial?

  8. skidmark,

Twisted bloomers here. That they failed to fire him for termination level offenses prior to this incident is hardly indicative of wonderful management, huh? That they then chose to fire him after he revealed their failure to meet their legal responsibilities as OFFICERS of the STATE tied with your helpful evidence of his prior behavior tends to lend credence to the notion that the termination was one of retribution, not personnel management.

    Thanks,
    JSG

  9. Jess, Sarah Hoyt said that when she was a kid in Portugal, they could always tell when some flavor of commy coup d'etat was going on, because the TV would play nothing but re-runs of "Green Acres."

  10. The coup d'etat has already happened here.

Most people just don't realize it yet.
