I am apparently really strange in that I thought the second matrix was really good. Not in the same ways as the first one, but still pretty epic and thought-provoking.
The third one was a piece of shit. If only they'd gone with the fan theories about the multi-layered matrix instead of DragonBall Z meets Jesus meets Aliens.
I will *strongly* argue that even if you disliked the sequels movie, the Animatrix belongs in everyone's video library.

Don't like many movies I have to squint to see things in. Don't directors know you need like to make a movie? Give me an old western any day.
ReplyDeleteLight, not like. dxxxn spell check anyway.
ReplyDeleteThe Animatrix was also pretty good. So Animatrix and The Matrix would make a pretty good Ultimate set.
ReplyDeleteI don't get the joke. It would make sense if they had ever made any sequels, but THAT NEVER HAPPENED.
ReplyDeleteI'm probably opening myself to ridicule for this but I did like the APUs of the third movie.
ReplyDeleteDidn't like much else about it.

ReplyDeleteYeah, didn't the entire cast and crew die in that tour bus accident?
I liked it better when it was called "Ghost in the Shell" myself...
ReplyDeleteWoodman, yes I remember that tragic accident. Their bus collided head on with with George Lucas' limo.
ReplyDeleteToo bad Lucas never lived to make the predecessor trilogy to the original Star Wars.
The two other movies were mediocre, but I loved the f$ck out of the scene where Neo meets the Architect. That conversation is amazing.
