Leavin' on a (very small) jet plane...
Getting ready to head to Mayberry RDM and board one of those little "executive mailing tubes" for SLC, and then an Airbus back to the Circle City. The high desert is beautiful, but I get to missing Broad Ripple before too long.
It lends gravitas to the final walkthrough of the motel room when you had enough guns and ammo up in here to outfit an infantry fire team.

Running around in the dark with loaded weapons is nowhere near as dangerous as flying an Airbus. I've put St. Christopher and St. Barbara on speed dial.
I can only hope that the next person to stay in your hotel room is a rabib hoplophobe and the trace elements of your firearms gives them the heebie-jeebies the entire time they are there.

So did you win the cleaning kit or the flashlight?

Cleaning kit.

ReplyDeleteRobert, MY hope is that it takes weeks to get the smell of Hoppe's, gun oil and burnt gunpowder out of the room.

That has use. I typically get the gimmee T-shirt 3 sizes too large.
Gerry
Only a fire team? I would have thought you pack heavy, like for a squad.

ReplyDeleteTravel safe.
ReplyDeleteThat "gimmee T-shirt 3 sizes too large" can be converted to cleaning patches.
ReplyDeleteDiFi just threw up in her mouth a little.
ReplyDeleteWell done.
Yeah, It's having to carry all that stuff that gets old. That and the spare battaries for the PRC.
ReplyDelete"That and the spare batteries for the PRC." Holy cow, now that's a memory I had successfully suppressed. Thanks for the nightmares, buddy. :D
