I was pleased this evening to make that group of 4 to the right from 30 yards offhand single action this evening with 240gr SWC I cast myself and loaded to the insane velocity of 1400-ish feet per second. Those other two were fired at 40 yards offhand weaver rather than iso and then I had to move forward to get enough light on the chrono to get a reading.

My big show off with mine back in my 20's was to arrive at the Tuskeegee National Forest range, carry 6 gallon milk jugs filled with water out to 100, return to the firing line then go 6 for 6 offhand single action much to the amazement of fellow shooters.
I thought was good but really I guess I was just slightly better than averge. :)
My favorite .44 round is no longer made. Remington used to load a 210gr SJHP. At 10 feet from the muzzle (because at 5 all I recorded was muzzle blast) they clocked an average 1470 fps. They would turn those gallon jugs of water inside out.
Been learning some trick shooting there tex? Anne did most of her tricks with a 22 short as I recall.
