I'll never forget when I figured out just how devastating.
Back then my standard test of ammo lethality was a gallon milk jug filled with water.
I figured the bigger I could make it go splodey then the better. I know, not very scientific.
My standard at the time was Remington's 210gr SJHP .44 Mag. It would shred those jugs good from 7 yards. Even a .308 with a 165gr Ballistic Tip at 25 wasn't quite as impressive.
Then one day I decided to shoot one with a 9 pellet 00B from 7 yards. Rather than the jug shape with big holes ripped in it I was used to seeing I wound up with a flat piece of plastic that no longer resembled a jug at all. I was awestuck.
"So, what's this AR-shotgun some media types are talking about now?"
Over and forgotten.
They apparently assumed it was an AR, because that's what mass shooters use.
Then somebody heard "shotgun" and the spliced that right into the text crawl, becoming the laughingstock of everybody who knows a double-barrel shotgun from a Daisy Red Ryder.
These people know as much about firearms as I do about, oh, cellular biology. The difference being that I don't tell cellular biologists what they're doing wrong.
If you passed high school biology, you are waaay ahead of their gun knowledge. You know a cell has walls and those walls need to be guarded by men with guns. Who's gonna do it?...wait a minute. I'll get back to you on that.
Comey's account of the rampage came after analysis of security camera footage taken inside the 197 building, providing the most detailed chronology so far of the massacre.
The FBI chief said that after driving into the naval installation in the heart of the US capital early Monday, Alexis had headed into building 197 and gone into a fourth floor restroom, carrying a bag.
He came out of the the restroom moments later holding a sawed-off Remington 870 shotgun and began blazing away at anyone who crossed his path, Comey said.
The shotgun was reported to have been cut down at both the barrel and stock ends.
Does anybody have any info on what he actually bought? Was it a PGO or a shotgun-shotgun like Uncle Joe wants us to use?
The Great Un-informed learned all it knows about shotguns from the Beverley Hillbillies, where a direct bast from a shotgun either resulted in no wound, just the sting of rock-salt...or in a sparse peppering of toothpick-like objects protruding from someone's butt. They had no idea the FBI considers them so dangerous that in it's training regimen, an agent confronted with three shooters, one armed with a pistol, one with a SMG, and another with a shotgun, must pass the simulation by engaging the target with the shotgun FIRST...
We all knew when he said it that someone somewhere would come along and make Uncle Joe choke on those words.
ReplyDeleteWill we ever see him in public again during the remainder of Obama's term?
Sure, lots. See, Joe thinks you're dumber than he is and his boss kind of agrees. :(
ReplyDeleteCaptcha: "723 arousar." No comment.
"Didn't they listen?"
ReplyDeleteAaron did.
Time for a new meme: "It's all Joe's fault!"

especially when you shoot through doors.
ReplyDeleteJoe only talked about those double-barrel jobs, not those high-capacity death dealing rapid fire pump guns.
ReplyDeleteFred, Shotgun Joe's implication was that you only needed two shots, both into the ground as I recall, so who needed an eeevil multi-round pump?
ReplyDeleteSo, what's this AR-shotgun some media types are talking about now? Before yesterday I'd never heard of one.
ReplyDeleteNobody needs two barrels on a shotgun! We need barrel restrictions for the children.

If you are a cell biologist, then SDS is not a left wing political group as the first thing in your mind when you see the initials:
