  1. *Sigh* I had that same gun in 20 ga, with a full set of finger-threaded chokes. Never should have let that one go...

  3. You post such nice pics.
I have a friend that takes good pictures like that but she clicks about 20 to get a good one. She'll take 500 in one outing, delete all the crap, and save about 40 good pictures.

  4. The fixed iron sights clamped to the ventilated rib suggest the gun is also used to launch slugs or........something else?

  5. Love those 1100s. Now if they'd just put the safety up on top where it belongs

  6. The most ironic part about that pic is that I'd just the other day, in response to this post, said to never use Winchester Super Speed, nor have it around, lest it get into your rotation. While packing for this trip, I found that box, and brought it for a laugh, but also to burn it up. Sure enough, it turned my excellent M1100 into a gas-operated single-shot. Cheapo Federal and Estate and Monarch and slugs and quality Federal buckshot all functioned fine. ONLY the SuperSpeed failed to function the gun.

Hawken: good eye. I put those on for a deer hunt that was put on at O.C. Fisher State Park in San Angelo, TX. The park is largely in the city, and the requirement was that you had to use either shotgun or a muzzle loader. It was a hunt for spikes or does only. Strangely, I had several good chances at decent bucks, but never got close enough to the does that I saw. I had ordered the screw-on sights from Brownell's, and had a beast of a time getting those jewel-sized screws and plates on the vent-rib. I've never taken them off. Strangely, I was doing some good work popping clays with them on.

For home use, I put the excellent Federal Flite Control buckshot in it, which is almost like shooting a slug, at household distances.
