That church is so me.

  1. Great, United Methodist Church. Gee, I wonder what that is like?

Now I can't play cards on Saturday night (but can have a beer) and I have to play softball on Sunday afternoon, clean the houses of the elderly and plant trees in a city park.

Can't we just go shooting instead?

  2. Drive by that sign every week, never thought of it that way. Do you preach the gospel of John Moses Browning at the So Tam(worth) Methodist Church? :-)

  3. Figures Tam would be a Methodist. She couldn't bear to hide her drinking like we Baptists do. :-)

  4. Tam is not nearly dull enough to be Methodist. :)

  5. I never picked Tam as a Methodist. I thought she liked guns.

  6. Where do I sign up?

  7. Some methodist's like guns. I kind had Tam picked for one of the more traditional sects. Or at least Baptist since she hails from Georgia.

  8. On the way up to Seattle, the signs tell me "No Ft. Lewis", but plainly Fort Lewis is right there.

  10. I reckon that might be "Southern" Tam, ya'll.

  11. @ Paul,

Honest question - please bear with me. I know a couple of Methodists with guns, but the mother church is quite anti-gun. How does one reconcile that?

    Thanks for your indulgence,

  12. Oh please, it plainly says 'So' Tam.

It's merely one of the many Tam impersonator sects - a Calvanist off-shoot that espouses free gospel, free guns and favours snarky sermons (elders of the church are known as Wookies for some reason).

Over here it is a classification too:

stupid legislation = 'not so Tam'

Painful for the recipient, snarky, put-down = 'so Tam'

    Simples!

  13. About that "No Ft Lewis" sign on I-5 - I've always wondered where the "Yes Ft Lewis" sign was.

Well it's moot now anyway since they renamed it JBLM.

  14. Do they have a big orange tabby that lays around on the altar?

  15. @drifter

We've let the bleeding hearts run things for a time. They usually lose their focus as to what the church is really about.

I have a theory about education and common sense. One seems to nullify the other.

  16. Tam, come over to the popish knaves of the Roman Catholic Knights of Columbus!

Pancake breakfasts beyond your wildest dreams!

  17. I think they forgot a comma and a question mark.

    "So Tam, United Methodist Church?"

  18. I hope you weren't planted in the middle of the roadwhen you took this.

I'd prefer to think of you as a uniter, not a divider.
