Southern part of Kentucky on I75 at least is clear from what I've heard on ham radio and what I saw yesterday on the 25 to 38 mm portion. Probably good to Lexington at least. of course I'm speaking in terms of the road conditions. As for other drivers, you're on your own ...
Bartholomew and Johnson counties are still under an orange advisory (essential travel only recommended). Everything north of Clark county on I-65 is under at least a yellow advisory.
I think they are hoping that the warmer temperatures today will help the salt break up the ice.
Being a native Wolverine, I should be surprised by anything that involves Ohio, but I confess to being a bit bemused that I my WA CPL is valid in the Buckeye state but a Hoosier permit is not.
I did not know that OH won't recognize IN permits. That truly sucks, having them on your state border and all. Anything that your state AG can fix, reciprocity-wise?
@Murphy's Law, there's nothing really the state AG can do. Indiana law only requires that you not be a prohibited person to be issued a permit, and we have state supreme court rulings that say they can't require anything more than that. The other states' laws require a certain amount of training, and by law can't recognize a permit that doesn't require substantially similar training.

Surface roads are white with salt but otherwise clear in Louisville, so the highways here are probably fine.

They're predicting highs of 34 tomorrow and 40-something on Friday in IND.

ReplyDeletePer AZ DPS, my AZ permit is valid in IN, OH & 33 others but the whole left coast doesn't like it.
