We put scary monsters in our fairy tales because we know the real monsters look like the lady in the checkout line ahead of us or the guy sitting next to our kids in church. Real monsters are just TOO scary.
ALL our fantasies are about us. They allow us to look in the mirror and not be truly traumatized about what's there.
