When you email the contact address on a personal blog and ask "Who’s the best person to speak with regarding advertising?" then it's pretty obvious that you are not doing any actual research. You should not be surprised when your email does not get answered and then react by sending slightly butthurt-sounding followups.
.
If they didn't feel butthurt, they wouldn't feel anything at all.
ReplyDeleteI'm now butthurt that they never get butthurt over me not responding.
ReplyDeleteSadly, I've missed quite a few legitimate contacts because I dismiss them so fast.
They don't ask me at all: they just barge in with their buy offers.
ReplyDeleteI am unfailingly polite -- which for me is difficult -- but firm in my refusal.
Spam, that's the way I treat em...
ReplyDeleteYour personal assistant wouldn't handle that?
ReplyDelete;-)
Huck can't type, and Rannie won't.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite was the one who, when stating that they'd looked at my blog, linked to a completely different blog, and then couldn't understand why I wouldn't want them to do advertising on my page....
ReplyDeleteIf they actually wanted to provide you something you would value, they would make their introduction more attractive.
ReplyDeleteThat they are just trying to sell something to you for their profit, not yours, is indicated by the slack effort put forth. Same as a Nigerian fraud email, they are looking for people so dumb that a response will be given to an obviously lame approach, because nobody else would give them money, ever.
You know, I thought the 'ads by project wonderful' would give it away.
ReplyDeleteKinda like how Unc has 'advertise on sayuncle' links to blogads.
Don't know who robb allen uses though. Also near as I can figure carteach and lawdog don't need no advertisin while Erin and NFO probably hand select ads
Not that I've had reason to look lately...
