Gratuitous Gun Pr0n #99...

I've long had a soft spot for the S&W 3rd Gen pistols. The CS9 was one of the last, and the most easily-toted of the bunch. In the Eighties, you had to pay a mint to get a custom 'smith to do this to a S&W 39.

And folks would ooh & aah over that ASP, too.

I always thought that if they made the original 645 with out the recurved trigger guard...oh, yeah....that would have been nice.

Had a 645, 4506, 4566 and even a 4567 at various times but would have really liked a 645 with fixed sights and no recurved trigger guard.

And yes, that was after I had discovered SIGs...of which I still have plenty if not too many. But no more S&Ws. If I ever see a non-recurved-trigger guard 645 someday, well, then...

  2. I actually don't remember that one... Must be suffering from CRS tonight...

  3. I had a 3913 and considered it one of the best S&W pistols I'd ever owned. And at this point I'd owned multiple 39/59 variants of the 1st through 3rd generations.

  4. Speaking as someone with a PROPER Chief's Special on his hip right now, I have always found the name of that pistol to be abhorrent.

  5. What knife is that? I kinda like it.

  6. Looks like it might fit the hand pretty well. I have several odd smiths and I like them well enough. Might be a chiefs special in the future, but I am thinking about reducing the caliber complexity in my safe. Another 9 could be a welcome addition.

  7. Fred,

It's a Spyderco Dodo. Those were so popular that they did a limited "sprint run" re-release recently, albeit with carbon fiber scales this time.

(The blade's short enough to be Chicago-legal.)

  8. I have a 469 that is among my favorites. The third Generation Smith and Wessons are very nice guns and ones I wish were still readily available on the market.

  10. I looked for a CS9 for a long time. Finally gave up and settled for a new late production 908S.

  11. Ok, so I'll go Bingoogle this, but... what mags do the CS9s take? I think the LGS has one in the used case...

  12. Looks like another case of "New pistol, completely new and different magazine design."
