Today In History: Mickey's debut.
May 15th, 1928 was the release date for Plane Crazy, featuring the debuts of Mickey and Minnie Mouse. During the short cartoon, neither one expressed their views on global hegemony or the Jews, but it wasn't a talkie, so one can't be sure.
I hate and despise Disney because Bambi and its ilk have all but destroyed hunting through anthropomorphism, and because its "wishing makes it so" philosophy has made us socialists.
Though hunting people are, as far as I know, the only ones to stand up to and defeat the mouse in a big battle in modern times.
I think he's cute, especially when he mimics shooting a Kalashnikov. You can spot a mouse that has had some quality training with a select fire rifle.

Die mouse die.
I thought Steamboat Willie was Mickey's debut. Was I mistaken?
ReplyDeleteSo did I.
ReplyDeleteApparently we were wrong.
