Politics: He says all this...

...like it's a bad thing. Me, I'm thinking "Yeah? So?"

  1. He also assumes that every single person in the Libertarian Party believes exactly the same thing.

Right, because that's how the Democratic and Republican parties are. Sure.

  2. She, actually, if you look under the profile (though she kinda writes like a guy would), is clearly making the collective argument about almost every point she makes.

Telling, I think, though she's not seeing it, I'm sure.

We do that when we get uppity. ;)

  4. What makes her such an expert, anyway? She obviously doesn't realize that there are small-l and large-L libertarians, not to mention umpteen different flavors of anarchists.
You're right, B&N, she obviously is a collectivist; and like most collectivists, she seems to feel her viewpoint is the only legitimate one.
IMO, the collectivists are the ones who are all the same; just a matter of degree.

  5. Thanks Tracy. Nice to know that someone else happened to see the BS being spewed forth and labeled as "truth" or whatever rot you'd care to call it.

  6. b&n, By "writing like a guy" you must be referencing the generally snide tone, and the reductio and straw-man fallacies (Heh)? I can't get over the liberty-whacking that Ron Paul has brought on among bloggers who thought they were conservative until they found out it isn't all short haircuts and civilization via the Krag. I was a Hospers libertarian (so was around for the real fun); frankly, I blame Harry Browne.

  7. comatus,

    Vote for me.

I refuse to buy votes; those for sale aren't worth buying.

This message brought to you by the Tamara For President Campaign: "Tam '08: Life's Tough; Buy A Helmet."

  8. comatus,

Yes, I think you've hit the nail on the head, in just about all respects...except that I'm more than leaning toward that civilazation bit you were referencing.

It's more than a little disheartening to see the proles blather on with their incessant pleas, nay, demands that they truly believe are completely reasonable, however laced with communism they be. Too much of it has invaded too many minds. That whole "reset" button is looking very appealing.

I'm a pissed off American male, what can I say?

  9. I wish people really new the English language.

"Arms" (in the vernacular of 1790) means "man-portable-weapons."

Although the idiots of the MSM coined the term Nuclear Arms, anything bigger than man-portable should be known as ordinance.

  10. Dave's First Rule of Internet Grammar Nazism:

"Although the idiots of the MSM coined the term Nuclear Arms, anything bigger than man-portable should be known as ordinance."

Any correction you make to another person's use of language will inevitably include an eroor of its own. You wanted "ordnance."
