Way of the Gun.

Happy birthday to the Mozart of the Machinegun, the Rembrandt of the Rifle, the Picasso of the Pistol, the Chopin of the Shotgun, John Moses Browning. With 128 firearms patents to his name and having single-handedly invented half of everything to do with modern firearms, we'll never see his like again.

Were he alive today, he'd be 153. And we'd have frickin' death rays.

  2. Got a little bit of beverage up my nose when I read that, myself. =)

I happily join the salute to the man who gave us the .25 ACP and .32 ACP cartridges!

  7. Well I missed making the pilgrimage, (across town) to the JMB museum for his b-day, darn. When I tried to explain to the spousal unit his significance, her response was how many people did his inventions kill?

I reminded her that John's inventions had been used to end two World Wars, not start them.

To which I add my favorite, the .45ACP... JMB invented it too. And he may not have invented the 12guage, but he certainly changed the way we look at it with the FN Browning Auto-5 and Remington Model 11.
