If the shoe fits, Barry.

Speaking to the Knesset on the 60th anniversary of Israeli independence, Dubya's speech included the lines
"Some seem to believe that we should negotiate with the terrorists and radicals, as if some ingenious argument will persuade them they have been wrong all along. We have heard this foolish delusion before. As Nazi tanks crossed into Poland in 1939, an American senator declared: 'Lord, if I could only have talked to Hitler, all this might have been avoided.' We have an obligation to call this what it is — the false comfort of appeasement, which has been repeatedly discredited by history."
Although no names were named, Sen. Hopeychangey immediately protested too much. The candidate endorsed by Hamas immediately shot back that he was not either a Nazi and that the Shrub was a big ol' meanie for calling him one.

Hey, if the shoe fits...

  1. The speech would have worked twenty or thirty years ago to that audience, they really do understand non-negotiation with terrorists. If Obama's people or he think the speech was aimed at them they must think they are the center of the Universe and of course scientifically very wrong about that. But they have been wrong and wronged before.

  3. You know, hearing Bush calling a duck a duck is kinda refreshing, in light of the current situation, three socialists of varying flavors. I'm tempted to just vote for Bush...for a third time (ick), since he's still the better of all of those dolts.

    Scary thought.

  4. what would reagan do? somehow i think the iraq war would have been much more of a joint effort if orchestrated by ronnie, and would have been over years ago.

there's nothing wrong with talking to the evil would-be emporers of the world, r.r. did it well, but nobody doubted he carried a huge stick.

and that is the difference, george is devoid of the power of oratory persuasion and inspiration, and bo somehow believes his gift of it is all that is needed to straighten out centuries of hate and oppression.

i wasn't a huge fan of reagan in the beginning; but God i miss him now...jtc

No, because in order to Godwin something, you have to compare them or their beliefs to the Nazi's. Bush was comparing the to Chamberlain. Big Difference. :p

  7. Watching the Democrats give themselves a giant nuclear wedgie over that was yesterday's big entertainment.

Seriously, with the degree of overreaction, they might have well held up a giant sign to McCain reading "RIGHT ON TARGET. HIT US AGAIN."

  8. Lets name names.

Senator Borah, of Idaho, said it in 1939. He died in 1940, saving him the chance to committ sepuku.

Senator Borah was better known for arranging for the Versailles treaty to be voted down after WWI, so the US eventually signed a separate peace treaty with Germany, but without the provisions for the League of Nations.

  10. My first thought when Obama Jihad reacted was... Damn, he might as well jumped up and down with flashing lights and screamed "GUILTY!". As if anyone had any doubts of to whom was being refered.
