Last month we won Heller.
Last weekend I went to get trained up at Blackwater.
Yesterday Palin got tapped for Veep.
This morning I burned a ton of lead downrange and was just absolutely lights out with any gun I touched. And then I went out for lunch with a friend. Plus it's a positively beautiful day outside. My face hurts from smiling.
You know, the world may end tomorrow, but for today, ain't nothin' gonna break my stride. :)
Where'd you shoot at? I was Marion County Fish & Game this morning, burning lead as well.
ReplyDeleteI was at Eagle Creek. We need to meet up so I can get you that book, bro. I want to see if I can't win some money on you in the state IDPA meet.
ReplyDeleteI was down in Martyville converting money into smoke and noise this morning. Has anyone tried out the range at Aterbury? http://www.atterburyshootingrange.com/
ReplyDeleteI gave your name to some woman on THR this morning, Tam. She was looking for people to shoot with in Indy.
ReplyDelete:)
What about a Range Meet-Up before the weather turns craptastic?
ReplyDeleteAnytime! :)
ReplyDeleteCall it and set it up and if I'm in town, I'll be there!
Shoot, all I got to do was go to a wedding and look at beautiful women, which at my age is almost a waste of time, no - never a waste of time, foolish perhaps but they were beautiful. Tomorrow I will go shoot after church, three day weekends should have at least two days of shooting or hunting in them - unless you fish.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean, Tam. I worked at my friend's Trap & Skeet Range this morning. It was crappy out up until 12, and then the sun came out and turned into a beautiful day. Then I went to the gun shop to buy a box of 10mm rounds and ended up walking out with another hunting rifle - a pre-owned Browning A-Bolt .243 Win. in stainless steel and synthetic stock, with a B.O.S.S. on it. I'm taking my guns to the range tomorrow and burning some lead myself. I'm going to celebrate my birthday with mucho gusto and shooty goodness!!
ReplyDeleteHmm...word verification: dubnyr ['W' as in the first letter of my name, and NY-R(epublican)]. How appropriate.
I took fourth place in my club's M1 Carbine Match. It was hot and sunny and still felt like summer. Yay!
ReplyDeleteQ: What's the difference between Tam right now and a Scotsman?
ReplyDeleteI took two new shooters (well, one new and one returning) to the range today.
ReplyDeleteAnd then reconnected with a longtime friend and drank frosty malt beverages.
It was a good day.
A: Tam says "Hey you, get off my cloud!" A Scotsman says "Hey MacLeod! Get off my ewe!"
ReplyDeleteI've qualified twice at Atterbury's range. Once on the "paper" range, and once on the popup one.
ReplyDeleteI've been on more than a dozen ranges in the military; I'd have to say that, for target visibility (a luxury we don't have in combat) and comfort of the lanes (nice smooth pea gravel that doesn't dig into your elbows), Atturbury's are the nicest by far.
Plus their popu targets seem to, you know, GO DOWN when you in fact hit them, unlike many ranges with jacked-up target machines.
I'm planning a range day in October at Jasper-Pulaski, but I'll go further south if invited.

Here's a web comic archive that I think you'll enjoy. Keep that smile thing working.
