Big Garage Sale:

In order for my poor starving artist self to come up with the shekels for that ParaUSA 9mm LTC, I'm having a garage sale.

Check it out:
  1. Galco Royal Guard for 5" 1911
  2. Galco Concealable for 5" 1911
  3. '03 Marzitelli Airstream custom knife.

Maybe more to come...

Y'all have fun bidding!

  2. Given E[vil]Bay's attitude toward fireams and anything related, why did you go that route, as opposed to say listing the holsters on your blog along with an asking price?

  3. llanok,

eBay's attitude towards firearms, much like their attitude towards drugs, switchblades, nazi-marked items, and et cetera is motivated by liability lawyers and nothing more.

I can almost guarantee that if you have had an old or obscure firearm repaired by a gunsmith in the last decade and it needed parts... well, if it weren't for eBay, you'd still have a busted gun. It's the number one source for old gun parts on the intarw3bz.

  4. I recently started selling some shooting gear and accessories on EBay. Trying to figure out the market psychology on EBay is interesting.

When I list and item I usually add a Buy it Now price that is somewhere between 66% and 75% of retail. I recently sold five items. One was purchased at the BIN price and the buyer got a good deal. Three of the remaining four items ended up selling for more than the BIN price after the dust settled. The fifth item sold for about $3 less than the BIN price.

So, it seems that most Ebayers will pass up a good deal on an item for the remote possibility of getting a great deal on the same item.

EBay has impressed me as a very efficient marketplace. Hell, maybe we can sell those "toxic" mortgages on it.

My philosophy is that if I think the price is good, then I buy it. Bidding wars are bad odds.

  5. It isn't really a garage sale without some mismatched juice glasses and an avocado green Crock-Pot™.

  6. It's odd, but it only shows you as having two items available in "View seller's other items".

The Galco Royal Guard holster just doesn't show up.

  7. Damn., Well I was almost the high bidder for about a millisecond there.

Maybe next time. Hope you get a good price!

  8. I would have gotten the IWB holster but I'd like it with some leather on the skin side for protection from chafing, and from my sweat getting on the gun, with a snap closure at the hammer.

  10. occurs to me as a former professional pervert (ive recently graduated to dirty old man) that where those holsters have been is prolly worth as much as what they are.

  11. I probably have enough holsters, but I bought one of your shirts and 3 bumper stickers. I hope that helps you a little bit.

Please pray for me if possible, as I live in Oxford and I work for the institution hosting the debate. I have to work on Friday. This place is a madhouse. I hope that I can keep my wits about me until I can get home ASAP on Friday afternoon and have a beer or two, cook a steak on the grill and watch Firefly as I zone out and try to forget about the debate between the Marxist Zero and the Geezer Hero.

  12. Not having a buy it now price or a reserve price has been proven to increase the take on auction items, FWIW.
