I am not ENTIRELY a Cooperite, but I proudly call myself a Cooper Trooper. In a display of great bravado (and affection) I refer to John D. "Jeff" Cooper, Col., USMCR, as "Uncle Jeff."
ReplyDeleteI use the New Technique. I use a modified Weaver stance and believe in sighted fire, and have been heavily, heavily influenced by the idea of the Scout rifle.
There are places where I disagree with Uncle Jeff, or maybe just where I fall short of his magnificence. I don't disdain the 9mm, particularly with good expanding bullets, and my most (recently anyway) used .45 is a Glock 21/30.
In addition to his promulgation of firearms technique and doctrine, Uncle Jeff was a splendid writer and an adventurous spirit. Wonder what he'd think of this election?
