...and my AR is all together.
Just need a carry handle or BUIS now and I'll go sight it in. Oh, and I've had squat in the way of luck in finding right-handed low-profile slotted receiver end plates for a single-point sling, at least in retail-land. It looks like Brownell's it is...
Of course... This post is worthless without pics!
ReplyDeleteHey Tam. I tried out some Aguila 60 grain .22 rim fire today.... and I was thinking of you. The stuff keyholed like mad out of my 1 in 16 barrels, but didn't you have an AR conversion in mind? Maybe with a 1 in 9 twist? It might be grand stuff for that... and subsonic to boot. Through a can it would just go 'poot' while still having some impact.
ReplyDeleteI wrote it up over on Carteach0.
I still wish you'd post a step-by-step for the black rifle newbies among us.
ReplyDeleteTam, I sent you an email regarding these guys that were featured on NRANews' show on Thursday from SHOT: http://www.failzero.com/armory/ar-15.html
ReplyDeleteHave you had any experience with their permament dry-lube coating? If they're as good as they say, then I'll consider buying the AR-15 bolt carrier.
Carteach0,
ReplyDeleteYou've set your blog up so people can only read it by invite only??
I have a detachable carry handle gathering dust here you can can have!
ReplyDeleteOg, AR15.com has some step-by-steppage; this is what I used, and Tam occasionally glanced at.
ReplyDeleteBest widget so far: Turk loaned us his detent spring tool for the spring+tiny pin that does the detent on the takedown pin. I suppose one could install the front pin without it but I'd hate to try. That was the most sproing-y part of the entire process. (Tam claims the fatter pin/spring used for the buffer is more commonly launched -- it's got high sproing potential).
Nothing personal, but I hate you. My upper is about three months out, still, and I have no idea how long I will be waiting on my lower parts kit from Brownell's. But, then, I waited until after the election to order all of this, so it is my fault :).
ReplyDeleteGreat stuff! :-) I went with the two-point sling instead.
ReplyDeleteword: fusewela!
Just for fun...did you look at DPMS for that part you want?
ReplyDeleteWarthog, a full LRPK-1 kit can take a bit. The spring would go out in a day or two from DPMS. For the Ladies.....mention Stan in the back to the salesman and it may be sooner.
ReplyDeleteWord. meltem......that's what I try to do!
Ooops, this was for the adapter plate, give us a call Tam but have the salesman come back and check, they are flying out too.
ReplyDelete(FWIW, my LRPK was a SPMS and I am vry happy with it).
