So I've got a bidder on Gunbroker asking for an "actual" picture of the 610.
I explain that I'm across town from the gun and my camera tonight, but the picture on Gunbroker is of the actual gun.
He says it's just a picture from a website.
I say "Yes, that's my website. That's a picture of the actual gun."
He says "I could say that was my website, too..."
Now he's emailing me saying if he's the winning bidder, he doesn't want the gun.
I've had enough for one day; I'm going to bed.
He's too stupid to appreciate it anyway.

What would be fun would be to take another picture of the gun, in the exact same position and location as the original, but change the penny to a quarter, and send that to him. :-)
ReplyDeleteTam, you'd probably rather sell it to someone whose check will clear.
ReplyDeleteGeez...and I thought eBay was bad!
ReplyDeleteHe says "I could say that was my website, too..."
ReplyDelete"Yes, but the difference is, if you said it, you'd be lying."
WV: "fonedur" -- Exactly what you'd hear if you got this assmonkey on the phone. "Durrrrr?"
He don't know you very well, do he...
ReplyDeletewv: mutho - as in your bidder?
I think that location is in Tennessee, unfortunately.
ReplyDeleteI don't think you have to worry.
ReplyDeleteNever thought I would sound like Joe Biden, but maybe that "Paranoid Neanderthal" doesen't need a 10mm handgun.
ReplyDeleteGo buy a Charter Arms at Guns-R-Us, dimwit.
I apologise Tam, I won an auction at Gunbroker today, but it was not yours :-( sniff.
I was on a mission to complete my collection of tip-barrel Berettas with a mint 86 Cheetah in .380
Can't explain it, we all have our obsessions, I have mine.
Dont get your panties in a bunch little lady. Just block the bidder.
ReplyDelete:-)
Fooey. I only can afford $800. I had my heart set, but alas...
ReplyDeleteJakeblade9
Heh. I know the feeling.
ReplyDeleteNot everyone has heard of TAM. She'll need to build up a little bit of feedback on that account before strangers will feel confident enough to send a check. I got burned on GB last year for a P9S and the guy had 150 feedback. Unless the seller is an FLL, you never know on GB. He's just being overly cautious.
ReplyDeleteI admit, my response would be something along the lines of, "If you are the winning bidder, I still want your money. Whether or not you want the gun is your problem."
ReplyDeleteWhy not post a new photo of the gun atop today's Indy Star on your blog here and then e-mail Doubting Cledus?
ReplyDeleteThen we can comment. :-)
Shootin' Buddy
Doesn't matter, he's been outbid.
ReplyDeleteAlso, if I'm bidding on a gun being offered by a person with the member name "Tamara" who is emailing me from an email account registered to a "Tamara" and who points me to a blog by a "Tamara", I may entertain the notion that these are three separate "Tamaras", but Billy Ockham says that's unlikely...
ReplyDeletelogic doesn't always apply ...
ReplyDeletescams are easy to do on these here intertubes.
ReplyDeleteWanting a picture that hasn't been in circulation is an easy way to verify that an item exists.
I'm just saying.
True, true. That's why I told him it wouldn't hurt my feelings if he canceled his bid.
ReplyDeleteYeah but Tamara is a very popular Nigerian name............
ReplyDeleteActually this is a pretty lively auction you got cooking. It looks like your first bidder also a 13 count A+ feedback bidder is still in it. Whereas your current winning bidder is another NR (0 feedback) person....The second guy also a NR has been following it for awile up through the bidding so he's probablly legit. Man I hate when a NR bidder is jerking my nerves.
Anyway cool spectator sport ... My money is on M***5
Yes, but I know who the NR bidder is. (See the comments in the original "For Sale" post here for a clue. ;) )
ReplyDeleteYou know, if I wasn't already ass deep in .45 ACP revolvers...
ReplyDeleteAs I told you the other day on the phone, the average Smith revolver model search run through Google will spit out one of your Sunday Smith collumns at or near the very top of the list, more often than not. This one surprised me in that the image search I ran only came up as high as 12th.
ReplyDeleteI don't buy Bad Economy, you should do well. Lotta people out there fishing for rarities that're coming out of closets as belts get tightened. Plus quality always sells.
ReplyDeleteI made over three grand profit off selling a .308 NDM Dragunov and a RK62s Valmet yesterday, and they started at a combined three thousand.
Vaarok -
ReplyDeleteAnd the IRS will want you to make sure and report that little gain that you just admitted to. Just saying.
WV - debedap: New application for I-phones - the bed. What will those I-phones be able to do next?
One more photo, you'll need help with it. It involved said revolver in razor-sharp focus (get Oleg), an isolate central digit, and a nicely printed card with a lovely spirited message to this complete tool.
ReplyDeleteAnybody could be saying his name is Vaarok, just like there are so many Tamaras.
ReplyDeleteBut they don't have his floors...
ReplyDeleteVaarok lives in Nigeria, trust me.
ReplyDeleteThe IRS can bill him there.
I deal with gunbroker "experts" daily and you have just encountered one of the garden-variety idiots therein. Their herd is enormous. Remember General Patton's motto: Noncarborundum Illegitimi. (Pig Latin for don't let the bastards grind you down.)
