If Microsoft had been put in charge of marketing sex, the human race would have ended long ago, because no one would be caught dead doing something that uncool. -James Lileks
I am not anti-Microsoft; they're just another company as far as I'm concerned, with good products and bad ones, some good ideas and some real boners. But I'll say this: The only thing they could do with money that is more useless than giving it to their ad agency would be setting it afire.
(H/T to Bore Patch.)
It's astonishing that they've taken over the world, when this is the sort of public face they show the world.
ReplyDeleteOh, and WV is "myocks", which I guess is what we do to their ad campaigns.
The thing is...7 is phenomenally better than vista. I got a copy through my school (full professional version, no RC. yay MSDNAA!!), and I havent had any problems in the last 3 weeks.
ReplyDeleteIts actually a microsoft product worth being excited about. It just suck that MS Ad fails so spectacularly.
The comments from inside the company about our ads are even harsher than the ones we see outside the company.
ReplyDeleteI figure management is deliberately handicapping us to avoid more visits from the DOJ.
Taylor,
ReplyDeleteOh, I've no doubt.
I've got a computer around here somewhere still running 98SE; I'm no kneejerk MS-basher.
It would keep somebody warm if they burned the money.
ReplyDeleteMicrosoft seems to follow a regular cycle of releasing an OS that is horrible and broken, followed by a fast and stable one, repeat cycle.
ReplyDeletehey, windows mobile's worse! 2002 would just crash and wipe your device out completely! 2003 had its flaws, 2005 was problematic, now they're getting ready to release wm7 not long after 2006 (which wasn't even released in 06).
ReplyDeleteI miss 98, though xp ain't BAD, just so confusing sometimes! I'm avoiding upgrading though as I'm sure even 7 would crash my 3 yr old pc even though it's barely used anymore!
WM 6.5 will come out before WM 7.0.
ReplyDeleteI've seen both and everyone that I know who has seen it has been impressed.
