So it may have been pee-pouring down rain at Wildcat Valley, but the firing line on the steel critter range is covered, and I am here to tell you this: There may be more fun firearms-related activities than mowing down hordes of steel chickens, pigs, turkeys, and rams with a Smith & Wesson M&P-15/22, but there aren't many.
I want to shoot the steel chicken sometime. It was cold but sunny at Atlanta on Saturday. Sunday was unpacking, baking and laundry.
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a good time! Went to an indoor range yesterday to check out the Kel-Tek that spent the winter in sunny FL. Not as much fun, but needed!
ReplyDeleteI gotta find me a close by place to shoot steels. Nothing convenient to E. Cobb. I did start preparing an environment at the house... a new junior sized Ruger (manuf by Umarex) break barrel air rifle. Now to find that right moment of maturity for the oldest. Well, that, and to build a bigger backstop.
ReplyDeleteI got a 7mm XP-100 just for the 200meter rams...
ReplyDeleteI just convinced 4 or 5 people today that the little Smith is possibly the most fun you can ever have with some plastic and assorted metal.
ReplyDeleteWe need some good steel targets around here...
i had a friend over to show him how to reload on my equipment. Being able to make ten rounds, go outside, and shoot them, and then reload the same brass is pretty sweet.
ReplyDeleteHow do you like the 15/22? I've been thinking about getting one for B.A.G. day (even though my refund will be negative).
ReplyDeleteThe only thing more fun is watching someone having a blast mow down steel critters.
ReplyDeleteNeed more mags for that thing.
:-)
Shootin' Buddy
I picked up a M&P .22lr after reading many many good things about it, and I am not disappointed in it.
ReplyDeleteI only have a couple hundred rounds through it so far, I'm limited to the one mag, I just can't find anyone with them in stock to buy 4 more yet dangit.
But I like it so much I put an EOTech on it.
Ordered 6 of them from here when I got mine.

Cheaper than what Smith wants from their site too.
My first 15-22 turned into a piece of crap, that S&W replaced the fourth time I had to send it back to the factory.
ReplyDeleteSo far the new one has about 300 rounds through, going to be more this week. Hopefully the first one had all the !(#@&&# bugs.
