They're not allowed to bring guns onto the National Mall, but if they had their way, someday they could march into Washington with guns at their sides.Yeah. Okay. And...?
I mean, guns were all over most every state capital this past week, and nobody busted caps, so what's your problem? You keep tearing at your hair about this blood in the streets that keeps not happening. For heaven's sake, get a grip on yourselves, okay? Everyone with a gun is a violent spree killer armed robber only in the way everyone with a car is a drunk driver or everyone with a p33n is a rapist...
(H/T to Sebastian.)
Hey, the Brits did it! Why not us?
ReplyDelete"someday they could march into Washington with guns at their sides."
ReplyDeleteAnd don't you EVER forget this!
Shootin' Buddy
Projection. They don't trust themselves so clearly no one else is trustworthy. After all, they see themselves as nearest to perfection.
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile, Kal Penn robbed at gunpoint in DC. Oh, the irony.
ReplyDeleteNope. Didn't shoot anyone. Didn't rape anyone. Didn't hit anyone with my car. Not today. Not yesterday. Not ever.
ReplyDeleteDamn! Am I an anomaly?
Nope. Didn't think so.
That "Yeah, And?" Part is the underpants Gnome "???" for most anti-gun talking points.
ReplyDelete"People could carry without a permit!" "Yeah, and?"
"People could buy and own Machine Guns!" "yeah, and?"
Bottom line this little social experiment has been tried in just about every mish-match possible, and the end result is that guns or types of guns, or permits, or background checks, don't really change the given scenario.
In the end its how many violent thugs are in a given area unrestrained, and how restrained their potential victims are.
SB +1.
ReplyDeleteThey are the Lords of Hyperbole, resolute in the face of facts, certain to lie given the opportunity and possessing all of the bravery of a Dandelion attacked by an Elephant.
ReplyDeleteI guess Chris Matthews got his Depends in a bind yesterday as well.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I don't spend my life in a continous state of angst and dread. It must be hard on your soul.

I'm just glad they finally figured out that people really weren't recently permitted to carry guns on the DC Mall. A year ago they were saying "pass a law allowing guns in National Parks and people will be carrying M-16s at the Washington Monument or Statue of Liberty!"
ReplyDeleteWell, no, not legally. That's just PSH. Unless the Bradys were referring to the cops and Park Police, of course...
Good rejoinder, Shootin' Buddy...
ReplyDeleteSometimes, if we're patient, they unwittingly write our slogans for us.

Maybe the Bradys think it's like the boardgame Third Reich* and once gun owners take the capital they can convert DC's BRPs to gun, bacon, and blue jean and flannel shirt production?
ReplyDeleteShootin' Buddy
*I have no idea what this is, a friend of mine played it.
I'm not sure that I can think of a more appropriate place to carry a gun than at the Washington Monument or Statue of Liberty. Seems to be right in line with what they are supposed to symbolize.
ReplyDeleteJimbo ... these are the nice people with guns.
ReplyDeleteYou don't want to meet the mean people with guns. Like me.
"someday they could march into Washington with guns at their sides."
ReplyDeleteThings keep going like they are, folk COULD be marching into there with guns in their HANDS.....
..... just sayin' ....
Well said Tam, well said!!!
ReplyDeleteShit, all I want to do is march into restaurant where they serve alcohol and have a decent meal. I think by the time the Brady campaign is done they will be working out of Helmke's mom's basement and talking about the good ole days when someone actually took their phone calls!
ReplyDeleteP33N? O.K., I'm being clueless, but should I know what that is?
ReplyDeleteAlso, what O.A. said.
Well, in "'leet speak", the "3" is read as an "E".
ReplyDelete(It's a slang term for the willy.)
They miss the point: We stopped at the river BECAUSE we're law abiding....
ReplyDeleteDid anyone catch that Mike Vanderboegh had his picture taken with Paul Helmke LINK
ReplyDeleteI thought the look on Paul's face said it all...
