Mom left Paris on Monday, therefore the Bastille Day (Fete De La Nationale) was held in a pouring rain. (The city cried)Also, the President's garden party was canceled. They say it was done as a symbolic austerity measure, but I know they canceled the garden party because mom would not be there. Carla was relieved; she hates having someone receiving more attention than she receives.
Your mom has the same birthday as Manuel Garcia O'Kelly-Davis.
ReplyDeleteI guess I get kinda geeky towards the end of a night shift...

ReplyDeleteMom and I are glad to know that your terrible headache is in the past.
ReplyDeleteBastille day always gives me the headache too.
ReplyDeleteYour mother stormed the bastille?
ReplyDeleteExplains SO much.
It was my wife's birthday also; of course she is old enough to be your mom.
ReplyDeleteBon anniversaire Mere!
ReplyDeleteBest,
McVee
Thanks. Now I have Rush's "Bastille Day" stuck in my head...
ReplyDeleteThen again, there are worse songs...
'Twas said that there is no sin in Paris on Bastille Day. Most anything goes. That was indeed a wondrous concept for a 22-year-old GI to contemplate.
ReplyDeleteSo, "Don't just sit there and contemplate! Act!"
And so I did. One of those "When in Rome..." deals, I guess.
