Bring out the gimp.

Conventional wisdom says that with the nation still stuck in 2.5 overseas kinetic military actions and the economy circling the drain, the party out of power should be able to oust the incumbent in the White House as long as they can offer a candidate that doesn't drool on himself too much and can remain upright long enough to get sworn in.

Looking at the GOP contenders so far, however, this may be too tall of an order. This roster is making the Jim Rose Freak Show look like the Royal Shakespeare Company.

  1. Well, the D.C./NYC Metrocons are drooling over Romney and/or Mitch Daniels, while deriding anyone else. But I think the Republitards should pull out their Secret Weapon, and nominate the Old Geezer War Vet to run against the Younger, Handsomer, Healthier-Looking Anointed One. It worked so well in the past when they put up Dole and McCain, right?

  2. Oh, *Alan* West.

At first I read that as Adam West.

Well, he's doing great as Mayor, so who knows? Maybe we could use a dose of Batshit Crazy. Oh, wait...

Srsly though, folks, we just need to get back to the three R's: Ryan/Rubio and the Right. When the Tea Party speaks starting in about six months, the clowns in the room, these darlings of MSM and late night comedians, will go quiet. And the world will listen.

That, or TEOTWAWKI scheduled for tomorrow, will be delayed by about 19 months.

  3. Watch Mike Rowe's TED talk on YouTube.

Plus that will do more than reverse the gender gap.

  4. Too bad Rand Paul drank the trotskyite* kool-aid..

*trotskyites have a long strategy of entryism.. which is pretending they are not commies, entering other organisations and taking them over from within.. So I suspect people like Kristol, or maybe even Rumsfeld, who were once trotskyites, were doing that kind of thing. How better can you ruin a whole prosperous capitalist nation than by making it overreach or get involved in large, expensive wars when it's economy is vulnerable?

I'm telling you.. neoconservatism is a commie conspiracy. No one does long term planning better than the reds. You know how they essentially invented post-modernist philosophy in order to undermine their enemies in the West..

I know commies well.. some of my ancestors are still unrepentantly Stalinist..

  5. I wouldn't want her to be president; she'd have to deal with congress and the bureaucrats.
But how about Tam for Supreme Empress for about 10 years?
    Tell us about your policies?

  6. This one almost had me banging my fist on the keyboard...and sooooo true!

I have to laugh at the situation, because I'm afraid I'll start crying otherwise.

HOW is it that the most incompetent fool to ever hold the post can't be thrown out on his ear by some empty suit?

    Why?

They don't call it the Stupid Party for nothing.

  7. I dunno. I kind of liked the way Michael Cain talked.

Like Palin, he comes from actual people (former CEO of Godfathers Pizza), not the next in the Republican-Old-Guy line, so he kind of intimates that he, and the party, have a different agenda than getting the next Republican-Old-Guy in line elected.

Like Palin, Cain comes from a different slice of the party than the (white) Republican-Old-Guy lineup. Again, this intimates that he, and by extension the party, are breathing new life. This is the same aspect that was important about Palin's nomination -- not that she was a woman, or that she was Sarah Palin with her own virtues and baggage, but that she might have signaled a real change in the party, and the election dynamics. I think Cain can bring that this time around, only standing on his own feet as a responsible choice, and not window dressing (Palin's "Pay no attention to the Republican-Old-Guy behind the curtain" cachet).

Unlike Palin's out-of-the-boonies background, Cain sounds like downtown, Mainstreet USA. We don't have to overcome culture shock to understand where Michael Cain comes from, or to appreciate that what he values is of value to us.

All may not be lost. It is unfortunate that the Republican-Old-Guy lineup still squanders so much organization energy and money. And all too often perpetuates the worst of today.

  8. Herman Cain... Micheal Cain is a totally different individual, and would not be qualified due to the birthers forcing his birth certificate to be shown.

  9. Though I always do get a kick out of Michael's accent and do like the way he talks.

  10. Well, for a second I thought you meant Dean Cain. I mean.. he used to be Superman, but he has fallen a long way into bad b-flick territory.

  11. @ Woodman,

    Thanks. I meant Herman Cain.

  12. I would vote for Caine just to see the "Caine Mutiny" headlines when he disagrees with some PaleoPublican orthodoxy.

    WV: creds. really
