Winning.

Apparently 33% of the audience at the latest Brady Center press conference was an NRA cameraman. Naturally, Helmke is all butthurt and lonely.

I don't get what he's whining about. You'd think he'd be happy that somebody showed up to listen to him.

  2. Oh, man. I hadn't seen the video from the press conference. It's so much better than the still shot... They should've sent a poet. So beautiful. So beautiful. I had no idea.

  3. I like how Helmke packaged his response:

"This is not the first outrageous NRA attempt to spy on us when they’ve been worried that our information might dampen support for its pro-gun agenda."

Ermmm Helmke, its called 'reporting'. You know, freedom of the press? But hey! You sound like someone from the past, though I daresay, his reasons are far more solid than yours:

"I hate newspapermen. They come into camp and pick up their camp rumors and print them as facts. I regard them as spies, which, in truth, they are." - William Tecumseh Sherman

    Thanks, Tam, I had fun.

  4. Evidently, they like the idea that no one knows what they are releasing in the press conference ...

  5. Funny how the Brady Blog Website does not support commenting. Could it be that they DON'T WANT to hear the comments? On the Huffington Post where the blog was co-posted and does support comments the comments were overwhelmingly against the Brady Position. (About 3 for, 100 against.)

  6. WTF kind of press conference tries to keep reporters out?

Oh wait, I understand. There are only so many seats, they have to screen so there will be room.

  7. Mind you, I still admire the genius that is Helmke.

What do they pay him, $250,000 a year to give phone booth press conferences and go to meetings in fancy hotels all over the world?

  8. "WTF kind of press conference tries to keep reporters out?"

The kind that wants biased reporters who will report the way they want.

  10. Thought you were channeling Charlie Sheen there for a moment.
