I have an idea, formin' in me head...

Who all is planning on being in town for the Indy 1500 fun show the weekend of the 26th-28th? Perhaps we could do something blogmeetish?

It would be fun! You'd like it! (And if you haven't been to the Indy 1500, you really should. It's one of the biggest gun shows in the country. Plus, like the machine gun shoot at Knob Creek, it makes an appearance in Unintended Consequences, which kind of makes it a Station of the Cross for good wookie-suiters. You get a merit badge for your bowcaster bandoleer for attending.)

  3. Thanks Tam. You just gave me an idea for a vacation. Road trip and gun show.

  4. :-( I will be stuck at home with my foot up. But I'll be thinking of you!

  5. > a Station of the Cross for good wookie-suiters

    LOL!

I've taken out of town guests down to Lexington Green, a good mile down the road from my house.

    Another Station, I guess!

  6. The 1500 and the Shot Show are mandatory pilgrimages for all gunnies. You cannot get your 72 assorted double rifles if you don't attend at least once per. \

WV: Dedang. Dedang show had too many people selling high priced black guns, and not enough nice antiques.

  7. NorthCoast Blogshoot the next weekend, 6 hours drive one way, have to tell them I'm not a Hoosier, so the Federales Paperwork to deny me my Constitutional Right to Engage in Interstate Commerce comes into play, the Wife already worried about the Household Budget because of our Bread and Circus Economic Policy ("Just cut out a few more Legions, Marcus, the Barbs wouldn't dare cross the Rhine!"), sigh, if I only could win the Lottery......

  11. While we're on the sbject, what IS in a bowcaster bandolier? Batteries? Energy bolts? Aren't they hard to handle? Is there space for cigarettes? Tictac? condoms? Collapsible brushes to keep the wookie fur smooth and silky? perhaps a nice creme rinse? Extra tinfoil?

    Enquiring minds...

  12. I'll have to send my regrets. Turns out it's on the weekend of my "Series Finale" of GVI's pre-qualification Range Day at Jasper-Pulaski for the kids at the Homewood Reserve Center.

I've been doing it long enough - from now on, their marksmanship is THEIR Platoon Sergeants' problem. I must focus on my kids in the Indy platoon.

To that end, I want to thank you again for your generous offer, and look forward to meeting you next year at Iggle Crick.

P.S. "Station of the Cross" indeed! And despite og's bellyaching, I saw some VERY nice flintlocks and a Gehendra last time I attended the Indy "Holy Day of Obligation" in May.

  13. Just curious, How does this show compare with Wannenmakers in Tulsa?

Has anybody been to both of them?

  15. The indy 1500 was the first big gun show I ever went too and it ruined pretty much all other gunshows for me...

Definitely a station of the cross. One of my favorite scenes form the book too.

  18. You've given me an idea. Miss D. and I have to travel to Ohio on business sometime this month. Now, if we can come back via Indianapolis, at the right time . . . this might work out!

    I'll be in touch.

  21. Take a weekend off to fly to Indy two weeks before taking week+ off to fly to Hawaii for HH6's birthday? What a great idea!

    I wish!

    Maybe next year...

  22. Mr. B and I are hoping to be there!

  23. AT's b-day is the 28th, what a great place and time to pick up a present and meet all the comrades/combatants!

Sadly, Indy on Sunday and Fla for work on Monday just don't work. :(

Weren't we supposed to have those f'n flying cars and/or teleporters by now?

  24. Katie and I drove across the south look of Inday and we gazed wistfully to the North. Wish we were closer.

I hope you noticed I won the National Vintage Military Rifle Championship at Perry this year. Video up.

All good people await the coming of the Tamunculous.

  25. Every. single. time. you post about this, I misread it and get all ecstatic about magic Indiana, where they have gun vendors outside their raceways.

  26. I'm in Indy that weekend !! Just post meet-up times/locations and I'm there.

Being from Illinois, I will try not to drool on everything.
